No. I agree. You so called cyclists are taking away from my outlook on life. With your stupid lanes. Fuck lanes. Lines are cool though.

The fact that those complaints were voiced and listened to tells me that we are going down the drain as a society

If you ride a bike you should pay more taxes for the bike lanes.

bicyclists give the roads a break from the wear and tear of large motor vehicles. They are saving the public money by using an alternative commuting method. The last thing they should be is taxed extra. It should be incentivized if nothing else.

If you ride a bike all the time you should have it registered and pay taxes on it for the bike lane.
If you ride in groups it should be the bike riders responsibility to get the fuck out of the way of the car. Why should we the driver have to swerve into the oncoming lane? Does not compute.

Most bicyclists are also motorists, so the tax thing is stupid- I don't know why people even bring it up. In a country where pollution and obesity are both huge issues, bicyclists should be more welcomed. Our bike lanes and lack thereof are a problem, as are motorists who have an issue slowing down for a second to pass a person on a bike.

Right except for the fact we are talking cities and traffic back ups.

I do get frustrated with cyclists' behavior sometimes; you're part of traffic, so follow traffic rules. You don't get a pass on red lights just because, in your mind, you're kind of like a pedestrian too.
that said, Naylor, taxing cyclists when they lessen congestion as opposed to adding to it, is, frankly, one of the most backward ideas I have heard. Don't run for mayor on that platform.

We got blue lines here in Akron. But at the same time, only have like 3 months of the year to ride a bike.

It was awesome being in Seattle and at least the half the people on the rode were on bikes.
I can't even talk to people who are anti-bike. Fuck those people.
And as far as running red lights, running a red light on a 20 lb bicycle isn't anywhere close to the same as running one in a 2000 lb car.

Assuming you were responding to my post, I didn't compare running redlights on bikes to running redlights in cars. that said, it's a pretty poor argument to reason that because running a red light in a car is bad/worse, running a red light on a bike is somehow okay--doing so is dangerous to the cyclist and the rest of the traffic too.
