Hilarious, Mickelson was right the whole time. He may have come across as an ass, but most of the things he mentioned as far as forcing a change have now been addressed. This is all so hilarious isn't it. Phil really is a badass... a douche, but a badass. And he can still play. How much will Norman make after all is said and done? $500 million? More? Monahan is still CEO of the PGA, they added some guy from the PIF, and the other sitting board member of the PGA remains. there's been nothing mentioned of Norman continuing his job from any of the stuff i've read about it today. also crazy that the players were blindsided by this announcement. if i were one of the PGA golfers that had to go to bat against LIV (Rory, JT, etc) i'd be pisssssssed. the PGA probably thinks some hush money will do the trick, but that can't sit well with those guys regardless of the money, when they're already rich. |

Ricky Fowler turned down $75 million to go over to LIV.

Sportswashing 2?
Has the PGA sportswashed the LIV clean, or has LIV sullied the PGA?
Will Gen Z. (who I read are savvy to and feel negatively about greenwashing/sportswashing efforts) react, or do they not really give a shit about pro golf league wheeling and dealing in general?

Today is the first day of the new maintenance plan. PGA did holes 1-8 and 12-18. Saudis did 9-11.

I'm not huge into this saga but man those guys that stood strong. Like mentioned Rocky Flowers turned down 75 mil! Only 1 year later that doesn't matter anymore and he missed his signing bonus.
The guys that got paid stole the bag the only consequence was labeled.
LIV is probably done with their massive payments. They did what they needed and it didn't even take as much as they were willing to do

I seriously think Phil is going to laugh his ass off every single time he sees Rory for the rest of his life. Rory took so many shots at him and his integrity and now he finds himself playing on the same damn tour. Rory actually came out and said well I don't have any choice now, but anyone who joined LIV previously shouldn't be allowed back or be on the Ryder Cup. Have some self-respect my man. If you want to be principled, just quit and go play the Japan tour, otherwise shut up.

bryson has done a hell of a job shifting the public perception of him. a few years ago he was the big dumb guy who could swing fast, now everyone realizes he's just a giant nerd about all things golf. lost a little weight, got a youtube channel, and now everyone likes the guy again.

Interacting with the crowd is a huge part of it too. When he pulled out the iron off the tee box and said don't get mad at me, they ate that up. He was high fiving fans and chatting in between holes. He was likable.
