i like golf.. got an a pretty decent drive and can putt decently most of the time.. my short game is lacking for sure.
i do love the hitting the sweet spot on the drive.
have not gone in couple of year... just easier to throw disk and accomplishes pretty much the same thing.. outdoor activity in a park like setting

We use my golf clubs to play hockey in the garage. The driver with the head cover makes a great goalie stick. I try not to use my grand-fathers clubs though. He just recently passed and I like to have keep-sakes of friends and family who are no longer.

Im a pretty good golfer. In HS i was shooting btwn 80-90 stroke games at legit courses. I was really good. I was on the golf team and we played at our town golf course and it was a reallly nice course. i didnt give a shit about our actual team. i just got to play golf every single day at a nice course for $100 for the semester. was legit as fuck
golfing back then was a lot cheaper as a kid tho. now every decent course costs like $90 to play. its hard to play well when you dont play consistently. and idk about you guys but i get so fuckin pissed when i play a shitty round. ive thrown clubs in the woods before and couldnt find it lol
only thing i hate about golf is how formal it is. sometimes ill just weak basketball shorts under my khakis and take em off once i get away from the clubhouse
none of my friends wanna golf anymore tho. and if they do they treat it as a party and look like drunk assholes on their golf cart. or they just wanna play the faggy hippy version of golf, disc golf. which is for faggots
i take golf serious. i used to be able to drive 280-300yrds consistently

a kid i know his grandfather owns a nice course around our town so in HS we used to just go there and steal the golf carts and fuck around the course late at night
once he hit a tree head on tho at full speed and he got thrown right into the tree and needed like 100 stitches. so that was the end of that lol
but during actual rounds i dont fuck around. im there to play a good round

i like being outside and active and the landscaping is typically nice to gaze upon

i cant chip for shit tho. just dont have the finesse. if im on the fairway and the green is like 20ish yarda away, ill take out my 3 iron and just hit the ball at like half speed
its kind of different but it works really well for me
i need new clubs tho. mine are kinda small
anyone prefer steel shafts over graphite? I hate graphite. Steel is just more accurate
i do sports kind of old school

Yeah I'm in the same boat. My irons just feel too small for me. I def got em like 10+ years ago too. and yeah my driver is my only graphite shaft. My 3 and 5 wood are shitty as fuck but i hit em really well idk about you but i hit my 3 and 4 iron really well. my golf coach told me it doesnt reall make sense to use them but it has always worked out well for me one of my friends is a really good golfer and its fun going with him bc he can always help me with small minor details that really make a difference |

I shot a 98 on Sunday. Not bad for the first round of the year. I had a few really poor holes and a few pars. It was fun and I struck the ball well.
I can't hit a driver, never have been able to, so I generally tee off with my 5 wood. I was consistently hitting it about 220 on Sunday and kept them in the fairway...made a big difference.
My ball striking with my irons was really solid too...I hope this portends a good season for me. Now I want to play every day.

Now I want to play every day. yeah its best to do what youre good at. some people who arent good with drivers still use em just because. not smart golf im lucky to be really good with driving. when i was playing golf the most at like 17 years old i was driving the ball like 280 pretty consistently. straight too. then id fuck up the chip shot. short game and chipping is where i suck the most. im a decent putter anyone ever hit a hole in one? i havent i love people who drive the ball and it starts really low and progressively gets higher and higher. like whooooosh. idk if that makes any sense at all. like when i drive the ball it goes high really fast. it seems like older men usually it goes low for a while then gets higher. kinda like how happy gilmore drives the ball |

I couldn't hit a driver worth a damn, I used my thin profiled Orlimar 3-wood on the tee box. I could smoke that thing down the middle pretty consistently. I was already starting to cut way back when the head broke off from the shaft while teeing off. That was the last day I played a round of golf. I was cleaning out an exterior storage closet last night and ran across my bag, haven't even looked at the clubs in years. I think I'm going to the driving range soon to see if I can still hit them.
