the 5 stages of grief
1. Denial – The first reaction is denial. In this stage individuals believe the diagnosis is somehow mistaken, and cling to a false, preferable reality.
2. Anger – When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, they become frustrated, especially at proximate individuals. Certain psychological responses of a person undergoing this phase would be: "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; '"Who is to blame?"; "Why would this happen?".
3. Bargaining – The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. People facing less serious trauma can bargain or seek compromise.
4. Depression – "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die soon, so what's the point?"; "I miss my loved one, why go on?" During the fourth stage, the individual despairs at the recognition of their mortality. In this state, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time mournful and sullen.
5. Acceptance – "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it." In this last stage, individuals embrace mortality or inevitable future, or that of a loved one, or other tragic event. People dying may precede the survivors in this state, which typically comes with a calm, retrospective view for the individual, and a stable condition of emotions.
hang in there!

I went straight to acceptance. Because I am special. Go ahead, tell me how special I am.

I'm at anger currently. I almost hit bargaining today, but I may just skip that step and go right into an alcohol fueled depression.

If Trump can get the fed government running a little more lean and cut our taxes a bit, I'll be satisfied...Just hoping there's not too much backslide on social causes.
I'm actually excited at the prospect of infrastructure improvements too...if we can cut some of the waste in the fed govt and funnel some of those funds towards Tennessee Valley Authority type bridge/road projects, we will benefit from the job creation as well as the improved infrastructure.

I think Kaepernick got way too much shit from pearl clutching America but the proudly not voting thing was a very bad look. It basically invalidates everything he has been standing for. You think both candidates suck? Vote G, I or L, and for God sakes vote for change in your own neighborhood where the policing is actually affecting you.

But don't compare it to the TVA... A Republican Congress would never go for something like that.

My stages were:
1) WTF? - Is this for real? Is this really happening? Un-be-fuckin'-lievable! The whole thing kind of played out slow as results in key states bounced back and forth and the pundits explained how they were waiting on certain counties to submit results. Kind of a roller coaster.
2) Brief moment in denial once the outcome was looking clearer.
3) Skipped over anger and bargaining.
3) Hot second spent in depression once the results were obvious.
4) Pretty quickly entered acceptance.
According to what I'm reading, a lot of people are stuck in the anger phase.

Hostile? How so? I knew I was going to be unhappy no matter who won. It's another beautiful, sunny day here, I'm going on a hike in a little bit, we have an intelligent and well respected President.... there's nothing for me to be angry about.

Doing pretty good buddy, we do need to have a few beers soon. Maybe we can revisit our tradition of JB meet ups around Christmas time where we have dinner, a few brews and then run over people on the way home. dude.. since Tuesday, if they don't speak English like that guy you ran over, it's totally OK now! And, I'm really hoping now there's a way I can send my unfaithful soon to be ex-wife back to the Central American shit hole she came from! Half full man! ;-)

Straight to anger. Full of piss and vinegar. Haven't been this fired up for a long while.
However, I would like to thank Donnie for waking me from the corporate stupor I've been in for far too long.

A long weekend full of space and booze should knock me right back into complacency though.
Probably a good thing in the long run. I'd stroke out shortly if I kept this up.
