This fucking prick is trying to instigate a civil war over this...He is, without a doubt, the worst thing to ever happen to this country.
I wonder how many millions in wasted time and resources this POS has caused the govt investigating all his bullshit. Should send him the bill..fucking shitstain.

While I agree he pretty much as worse as it can get. He still does not have nearly the blood on his hands as Bush and Cheney did. They are the worst that has happened in my lifetime.

Given the opportunity, I think trump would have gladly slaughtered just as many people as bush. It's just harder to sell conquering another country without a 911 type event these days.

I'm very skeptical about this whole impeachment thing but it seems even some Republicans are starting to slowly turn on him and based on his barrage of tweets over the last few days he is scared shitless of what is to come. The man clearly abused his power (one of thousands of times) but this time he was caught doing it. I'm not sure how he can survive this one.

I really think Trump thought he could bully his way thru it. He is unaccustomed to having to answer to anybody but his bankers.

Pompeo just told Congress to fuck off about the subpoenas. Let's see if checks and balances actually has any teeth to it.
There are an awful lot of Republicans who aren't saying shit about any of this. The usual sycophants are screaming their talking points, but there is an unusual silence from the majority of them.

He only needs the senate or assembly to vote against impeachment and the bullshit repubs will never break party lines.
Those fuckers tried running Roy Moore, they'll do anything to stay in power.

We'll see, that is certainly the popular narrative. The opposite happened each of the last three times a President was impeached. Absolutely nothing will deter his solid 30-35% base, but there are a lot of people tired of this shit.

At some point it will benefit the Repubs to sacrifice Trump and distance themselves from him. the Repub brand has taken a hit

Pompeo and Trump have no incentive to cooperate with Congress. From what I've read, the most Congress can do is add 'Obstruction of Congress' to any articles of impeachment. Trump and his admin. are counting on the Republicans in the Senate having their backs and figuring that impeachment will lead nowhere accept to increase the base's dedication (if that's even possible), and their fundraising efforts (they're already taking in a bunch more $ over this). They probably also figure that there's Trump's base, the people who hate him, and that the few remaining in the middle who don't have a strong opinion on Trump will figure the Dems overreached and react against any impeachment by either voting for Trump or staying home and not voting for any Democrats. People against Trump can at least feel good in knowing that on a personal, ego level, this has to affect him. I'm sure he doesn't want the historical stain of being remembered for being only the third President to be impeached.
The Dems can't fundraise on this. All they can hope for is that some really damaging new stuff comes out that makes it untenable for the Republicans in the Senate to further support Teflon Don (he'd have to be caught in some crazy cross dressing satanic non-white kiddie porn scenario - and even that?), that having the balls to impeach motivates (younger) left leaning voters, or that those undecideds who don't have a strong opinion on Trump find the case strong enough to think that enough is enough. Wouldn't be surprised if those voters are swayed more by the health of the economy and their own economic standing.
All the partisan pundits seem to think this causes either Trump to easily get re-elected/hold the Senate/retake the House; or that the Dems will hold the House and win the White House and Senate. Both sound plausible to me at this point.

Despite all this impeachment drama, the US has nothing on Perú where the President yesterday dissolved Congress (majority of whom are corrupt right-wingers) and decreed new elections in January. Congress reacted by suspending the President and swearing in the Vice President (who said she is "temporarily assuming the presidency of the Republic"), and saying the President overstepped his powers, calling his move unconstitutional and him a dictator. Of course the source of all this upheaval is corruption. Congress doesn't like the President's anti-corruption measures, though I wouldn't be surprised at all (based on the fact that all recent ex-Presidents are under house arrest, in jail here or the US, or in one case, committed suicide to avoid arrest) if it comes out the anti-corruption President turns out to be corrupt himself. You need a score card: The current President was the first Vice-President of the last President who was impeached twice (and is currently under house arrest) and the current Vice-President who Congress just declared President was the second Vice-President under the last President. These politicians apparently will shit on the person who brought them to the dance if it means they can be President. www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-49888117

Even fox news has been critical of him, causing a bit of a civil war at the station. There is so much blatant hypocrisy and lying by scared republican politicians that even fox is calling people out. This is trending well
