every crop circle and alien abduction story is false. unequivocally. every single crop circle was a hoax by pranksters, and every alien story has zero measurable evidence of contact. and there are countless confessions that back this up. does that mean aliens dont exists? no, it just means there is zero tangible evidence that can be attributed to extraterrestrials beyond a reasonable doubt. there is nothing that passes basic observational techniques. there is no question of belief here, the data simply isn't there. it doesn't mean it can't be, it just isn't here now. why is there no hard data on aliens?

Some people just can't be comfortable knowing that some things are currently unknown and so have to construct some reality for themselves in which those things are known (or at least highly probable because nothing proves otherwise) regardless of the fact that they have no data to prove their beliefs (as opposed to data which backs up their theory).

Psychologists suggest something similar to explain why people really into conspiracy theories are so. They're not comfortable with the idea of randomness and so need to construct a reality in which everything is caused by someone or some group; oftentimes using this to blame others for why shit in their life is so shitty. Not their fault because of their own actions, but someone or some group is doing this to them.

Also explains a lot of MAGAhats. They took our jerbs! It's because of the Deep State who want to flood our country with immigrants! No you dumbass. It's because business sees greater profits in automating your bank teller, grocery check out, gas pumping, product manufactuing, etc. jerb.
