No. The difference is we have plenty of scientific evidence about sharks.

No. The difference is we have plenty of scientific evidence about sharks. of course we do have evidence of sharks.
the point is if you scoop up water you dont get shark you cant conclude there is no shark can you?
which leads to just cause you havent seen an alien just means the alien wasnt on your spoon and you cant conclude aliens dont exist. which is a valid point.
given the size of the universe it would be almost impossible not to have other life out in the universe and of course the thousands of data points on this planet about aliens make it even more probable
is every single data point about aliens on this planet, wrong or a lie ect. highly unlikely. all you need is just one to be true

Im sure they come in all shapes and sizes given the trillions of chances for life.
the point was there are some who claim cause they havent seen an alien, they must not exist.. thats faulty logic.

But we KNOW that there are sharks in the ocean. We have seen them. If we don't KNOW what aliens look like then how can we KNOW that they exist.

its simply its more likely they exist then not
thats a big flaw of materialistic science, to assume it dont exist cause you cant measure it.
im pretty sure radio waves existed before we could measure them
you are still missing the point.
just because you havent seen them dont mean they dont exist.
to assume they dont exist because you havent seen them is faulty logic.
this is NOT a proof of aliens. aliens are just more probable then not given the thousands of data points and the mathematical probabilities.
and lets not even start on the DMT aliens who many many many have seen with the third eye

Same old straw man argument. If lack of proof causes you doubt/skepticism, then that means you don't believe in even the possibility. As far as probability and the simplistic, 'the universe is so big, so there must be something out there,' see the Drake equation which discusses probability from a studied, mathematical perspective instead of general and only theoretical basis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equationDoes anyone actually conclude that there is no possibility that aliens exist, or is it really more accurate to say that some people need to be presented verifiable proof of the existence of something before actually believing that thing exists? Without proof, something is just theory, but that theory doesn't necessarily say that lack of proof means there is no possiblity for that thing to exist. It's kind of like naylor's recent argument that if you question or criticize the cops for shooting Jacob Blake, then you obviously support sexual abuse of children. There's just no logical and/or valid connection in either and it's just putting words in people's mouth in an attempt to shore up one's personal beliefs.

I've seen a lot of things while on drugs. I'm also aware that all perception takes place within the brain. Hearing voices doesn't mean anything made an actual, recordable sound. Seeing something is not proof of it's existence. Human perception is not anywhere near 100% reliable.
To assume something exists and then lable it as probable without calculating actual mathematical probability because of something as vague as 'it's a big universe' is as illogical as assuming something exists because other things that were previously unknown are now known.
Lot of psuedoscience and fake news without providing any evidence at all while creating straw man arguments that put words in the mouths of others running wild in this place today. At least in the BLM thread it's new fake news and not this same old rehashed shit that gets trotted out here every now and then.

Pyramids all over the world and their usually difficult to get to locations
Are proof enough for me that somethin else is out there
We couldn't build those things now in their exact locations with all the technology we have available if our lives depended on it
And these monuments were supposedly built by hand
We dodnt devolve from being super man
Or did we
¿?

the primitive civs who built the pyramids all over the world claim alien contact, oh wait, they were pretty fucking advanced to be able to build them, line up on ley lines thru out the world and clearly had an advanced knowledge of astrology. how did they cut those blocks of stones to accurately?
so we are to believe they lied in their texts, so many ancient cultures speak of aliens and ships. some big joke on the future? seems unlikely the gaia network has some pretty interesting stuff on aliens. they have alot of good stuff
for aliens to come back know would definitely alter humans society and take away our choice to be what we are to be. back in ancient times when aliens perhaps were messing with dna , interbreeding, aka the Norse, Greek, Egyptian gods, not so much
one cannot rule aliens out and if evidence exists, the government and those that control society and the timeline/history dont want us to have it.
it just makes no sense that everyone is lying to convince us Aliens exist.

I've never one time said that I thought aliens didn't, or for that matter, do exist. Simply that we don't know and that is why we label these sightings as unidentified.

For the purpouse of debate the author of this thread should have clearly defined certain terms, almost exclusively, the use of the term alien from the onset of said thread.

I'm not missing the point. The meme makes a really dumb analogy.
it makes a simple point that just because your small sample does not contain a shark or an alien does not mean they dont exist.
once again, it addresses People use the fallacious logic that since they have been provided no direct evidence that aliens dont exist.
its NOT a proof of anything. it just points out failed logic
what makes aliens unlikely in your mind, you have to ignore thousands of data points and assume every single one is wrong.
why are aliens unlikely? Im curious

Aliens existing and aliens visiting us here on earth are two different things. One is true and the other isnt. how do you know one is untrue
what is your data set?
thousands of data points thru out time are all wrong? that seems unlikely.
what you do you have that shows the other is not true? given you feel comfortable enough to make a declarative statement.
perhaps im missing something

neither side can prove either way
so this a case of more likely then not and why.
at this point the data is most certainly leaning towards visitation
