The groundhogs are eating all my tomatoes while they are still green and fucking up other shit that's not in raised beds with chicken wire. I should have just done this from the get go this year...
So, I'm putting three or four wires of electric fencing around my 40'x25' garden.

So there is a battery pack or similar? I'm assuming its not plugged in 24/7 since youre charging it. How long does it last?

I'm imagining you being out at the bar and telling them you have to leave to go home and charge your fence.

I actually haven't been going to the bar much at all lately. Those dragonflies on tap just go down too well and I come home and try to party on work nights.

My parking lot garden. Lost the majority of the sunflowers early to slugs, then a few got tall and cracked in half. I should have supported them more. Happy to report just today I confirmed habenaros, jalepeno, and Cantaloupe have developed some babies!

I'm trying to do Cantaloupe with a tressel but all I had was that cage. I have no idea what I'm doing but at the least I just wanted a fun big vine. It's working out

I am not a farmer but cantaloupe may be too heavy?
There is a couple little jalapeno plants in my work parking lot.

Brussels Cauliflower Broccoli Romanesco Cabbage
I also have sweet potatoes going. I’ll probably start another round of peppers and beans too

I don't have the variety of peppers I had hoped for, but we've been sampling. We tried the hottest one I've eaten, not grown as I'm scared of the reaper I have, but damn. 7 pot congo sr. I cut up a small one with a tail and holy shit. We only ate tiny pieces. I have no idea how people take bites out of and eat these things. I had a couple more to try, a 7 pot congo sr mustard and an orange bhut copenhagen, but cut the sampling short after the first 7 pot. We'll try the others tomorrow. The kimchi, black hungarian and black habanero were my favorites from tonight, but the hab is freaking hot too. Great sweet fruity flavor, though.

I'm filling up the dehydrator with peppers. Hopefully I don't gas us out with the ghosts and 7 pots. The mustard congo 7 pots smell incredible and I was surprised that they aren't as crazy hot as the red ones, congo sr. The mustards are very fruity with that awesome tropical habanero type flavor. I'm going to make some jerk with some fresh ones. I figure if my recipe calls for 4 habaneros, I'll just use one 7 pot. I tried the orange ghosts for the second time today and they are ridiculous. I gave some to the guys at the Indian restaurant and they'll likely be getting the rest. I'm drying half a tray to have on hand. Oh yeah. The peach ghost starts super fruity and sweet and then after 4 or 5 seconds the heat creeps in and, just wow. Crazy hot. I only have a few of those left after giving some away. I want to experiment with a sauce with them.

I should have set up the canopy over the smoker earlier, as now it's raining. I was going to do a round in the smoker, too. I tried some of these from Baker Creek. www.rareseeds.com/pimiento-de-padron-pepperFun peppers. They are those one in ten are hot when green, but they all get hot once red and the one is even hotter. I'm going to smoke a bunch because we have a shit load of red ones now. I think they'll make a good chili powder/paprika sort of thing. I quick refrigerator pickled some red ones and the hottest ones are damn hot. They are tastier than a banana pepper, though. Fun peppers.

My Brussels, Kale and Broccoli is looking good. Aside from the bottom right plant that my dickhead dog smooshed. I also planted some beets and radish seeds and my peppers on the other side are still hanging on.

It's going to freeze tonight and tomorrow so I had to cut down what remained of my garden today. It was a decent little yield. I made fried green tomatoes for dinner tonight, those are so good

I found the lost bag of seeds that I spent hecka money on and couldn't find in the spring... ah well. I'll find them a good home for the local flora butterfly and pollinator friendly stuff like milkweed.
I picked pobably my last crop of Serrano and poblano. Ill let the last few geen tomatoes go a while longer
