BUT
at camp this year i was tripping super hard and just sat down and zoned the fuck out to some tDB and i actually liked it. brownie stayed quiet and it just like sucked me in. after years of talking shit about them something finally clicked and it all made so much sense to me at the time. it was kinda like an epiphany for me lol
and their set before Bassnectar was pretty good. it was more like a rock set than a jam set in certain ways. i think they did that cuz they knew the whole festival was at that set waiting for bassnectar who was next up so they toned it down on the jam and went the rock route to gain new fans and for the most part that set was pretty cool too
but i just cant do all the noodling. besides those 2 sets ive really always pretty much hated em. plus theyre greedy as fuck

like i know they have tractorbeam sets and idk if thats what i saw but brownie kept quiet (from what i remember) and it really did feel like a tractorbeam. like it just sucked me in soooo hard and like your just sooooo zoned out but like at the same time youre so into it
idk if any of that made sense...

sometimes its really just about the all around experience
i think i prob woulda liked the second set either way cuz thats like riiiight when i started trippin but the mdma/mda hadnt hit me yet and i had fun. things really didnt get that crazy til the molly hit me and all the drugs like fused together so well for one of my most epic candyflips ever and that was like at the very end of their set

I try to judge whether or not I like a band on whether or not I can stand to listen to them while (mostly) sober. lets put it this way, i would never go outta my way to see tDB on my own. i saw them cuz they were there and there was nothing better going on atm so fuck it. i probly liked em a lot more on that first set cuz i was on L the second set i wasnt really fucked up at all. i think they just played a set that was a little more friendly to non-jam fans its was moreso the L than the shards honestly |

they played a pretty sick Knights of Cydonia cover at bisco that lasted like a half hour. it was actually pretty cool

I've seen 'em at fests, had an alright time. Being on something probably helped. Nothing I would listen to at home.

I've seen them a few times. Always on drugs. It was fun because i was on drugs and with my friends.
But it was always really annoying that they would be in a groove and everyone would be dancing and then dude starts singing... LET. DOWN.
Yes, they suck.
