the neighborhood my folks live in, and the one I grew up in, had wolves up until about 5-7 years ago when the uppity parents started getting freaked out that the wolves will eat their children. So they had them all re-located...and that is why there is an overpopulation of skunks!

I believe that you have coyotes near you, Venk, but not wolves.

holy cow i had fun this weekend. gogol bordello was awesome though they only got 45 minutes, plenty to time for them to do an hour..
i was really happy with modest mouse. i found the music hit or miss when i checked it out. but brought a really energetic show and i like the singers sense of humor. super happy with them.
got to where we wanted to be an more.
the venue was a football/soccer field in Madison and got to stand on some really spongy AstroTurf... went barefoot during gogol.
ran into some of my sons friends who i played rock band with prob 10 years ago or so.. had a fun after party at my house. people staying over and such.. we dont get lots of house guests.
loved the venue.. hope we can do some shows up there next summer. this was the last of the season

There have been a handful of gray wolf sightings in Western Mass. Including one shot dead after killing some lambs. The coywolf hybrids showing up all over Maine are interesting. You also have the wolf/husky breeds out there that people release into the woods after they realize they can't handle em...
We have a shit ton of coyotes here. I love the sound of em. Mix in some owls. My favorite night time soundtrack...
This summer though, I def heard something that sounded more wolf than coyote outside my window at 1am. It was unreal. Not saying it was a wolf, but I'd have a hard time figuring what else it could've been.
We have a bobcat and bear that live here too. Friendly neighbors..

I forgot that I heard some owls calling back and forth yesterday in the tree stand too.
It's probable that some grey wolves are moving back into the states from Canada...but Venk is still in Albany, right? There's no wolves there.

I like my chances against 1 wolf. A pack would fuck my day up though.

Honestly, if I'm out camping and I'm hearing a shrieking pack of coyotes I'd be a little nervous

btw, i feel bad about ever wanting to consider giving my dog back up for adoption. He still has a lot of work to be done but he is a very good, sweet dog who is so great with our child and is really starting to learn his role. It's nice having a big dog in the house too!
