you are supposed to take a hot shower starting out. then turn off the hot water all the way and start out at 45 seconds I think under the cold. or something like that.
you end up taking warm showers and up to 2 minutes under the cold after a week or two they way he explains it is pretty powerful.. training your vascular muscles . Humans have grown soft

I play music with a dude that said this cold shower stuff saved his life. He said he was really depressed and things weren't going well and this gave him a new lease on life. Said it got him playing music again, so thats good.
I'm a pragmatist so it sounded like hogwash to me but the benefits of cold on the human body seems like it might be a thing. I do enjoy swimming in cold bodies of water every now and again

Sometimes at the end of a shower I crank it to cold for like 10 seconds... I do that in the summer a lot, especially if showering after a walk or while sweaty. But for as long as it takes to cool me down. No go in the Winter.

Sometimes at the end of a shower I crank it to cold for like 10 seconds... I like to do this in the summer, especially after I've been outside working. I'll stand under it for like 5 minutes though.

I went in the pool quite a bit when it was cold in beginning of year. cleaning it. this year think I will open that puppy up early and polar bear it.

I'd like to try polar bearing it once, but I feel like that would tide me over for the rest of my life.

I'm always afraid , I'd kill myself by heart attack or shock
But if the zombie apocalypse gets under control in next couple years, I'll take the plunge for charity
Member Ice bucket challenge, x and I did that

I took a trip to Utah in March of 97 for a college course. We camped out in the slick rock country of the southern third of the state. Area near Bryce Canyon among others. One day our professor took me and two other guys on a more advanced hike to see some archeological sites. We came across these little pools that were formed by erosion and they were being fed by fresh snow melt. We stripped down and each took a pool. They were deep enough to sit in and be submerged up to your neck. It was invigorating. The sun was shining and it was like 70 degrees out, but that water was brisk. It was also the first chance we had had to bathe in several days.
