www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5200923/Wtf Rebooting the Molecular Computer Mark Peplow The fuzzy sound of a distorted electric guitar is, for rock fans, a thing of beauty. It has been a staple of music since the early 1950s, when guitarists strained the vacuum tubes inside their amplifiers to match the raw voices of blues singers. Later generations relied on digital devices: “effects pedals” with circuits built from silicon diodes and transistors. But last year, a completely new source of distortion hit the market—one that uses an electronic junction made from organic molecules.

Point to point mockup of my circuit version I am encountering variables beyond my understanding and must learn new techniques to measure the components. I have made 4 versions of the circuit and each one sounds different so I must perform an autopsy to record measurements in order to understand why i am hearing different things. They sound like the same kind of chocolate but a slightly different recipe; like perhaps a bit more acidity that changes the characteristic. I can explain what I am hearing but I cannot account for it on paper because I have used the same specifications of parts, like a recipe given to a neighbor whose batch is the same in essence but a smidgen or two different nonetheless.

Best dadgum fuzz I've ever owned. Had gone the silicon route after a couple summer sun incidents with germanium fuzz faces having a bad spell, but this is germ-fueled with great volume knob clean-up and does not give a rat's wazzoo what the temp and humidity is. Not cheap, but swapped some stuff for a used one.

I have a problem... Sweet take on the 71 Triangle big muff circuit. I've had a couple of these older paint schemes on my watch list for quite some time. One sold a few weeks ago. Someone made an offer on this one today and the fomo kicked in hard. Really hard... reverb.com/item/43777975-jam-pedals-red-muck?show_sold=true

71 triangle spec in red army cosmetics? It's a 71 triangle with elements of a couple other muffs too. Thus the paint.

Point to point mockup of my circuit version never do this. Its noisy as fuck without an enclosure. Next time I fire it up will it probably be wrapped in a tinfoil hat. Thank you Faraday

Thus the paint. www.jampedals.com/red-muck/A Fuzz-Distortion pedal, inspired from the circuits of the ’71 “triangle” and the later “Red Army / Civil War” Muff. Along with our individual touch, the end result boasts a smoother sound, fatter low end, pronounced midrange and added tonal flexibility through the expanded range of the tone knob. If you’re looking for that lyrical Gilmour tone, then this is the pedal for you!

Another fuzz pedal is probably the last thing that I needed.

I haven't gone back to see if you linked this, but it's pretty cool. I wanted to figure out what to look for inside of the pharoahs and wound up with a lot more info than expected. I like how he talks about the individual components not being as significant of a factor on the tone and fuzz as is the overall sum of the components. www.kitrae.net/music/big_muff_guts.html

Only way they work for me is muff into treble boost of some flavor ...
But a good fuzz face? Now yer talkin', misterman. Either low/mid gain germ or a sweet-tempered BC183 silicon.
