So, when I retubed the amp with 5751s in the v1 and pi slots, it changed the way the drives and fuzzes push the amp. Several pedals I felt sounded better, but one in particular lost it's mojo. The Jam tubedreamer 72. It was my go to for slight breakup, dirty tone. The reduction of gain made it act more like a boost, so it got boxed. A similar thing seems to be happening with this piggyfx lard. It doesn't go deep running into the 5751s. I guess I need to put some ax7s back in there to test the theory. Hopefully the pedal hasn't degraded in some way. |
