Ordered bike shows last week after I did my first +40 mile ride to the top of Craggy Gardens on the Parkway...learned quickly after my ride the importance of proper footwear. Fast forward a week later (today)...I'm hawking the mailbox like a mother fucker. Haven't been on the bike in a week. It's killing me with this weater... Ready for them bitches to show up!  |

10 miles on the bike today meself...but just in the gym...doing interval training..keeping heart rate up above 125-130 for 30 minutes...I feelz good!...then that whirrrrpool...aww yeah..I think what I like best is the JCC's soap in the showers...so CLEAN smelling...mmm...Had a berry smoothie this morning...so good.
Cant decide if I want to nap or vidya game...so nice here r'now...low 80's..

I saw your pics on fb and I was like damn homie get some toe clips at least. If you are going to do rides like that on a regular basis you should consider going clipless. |

yeah, I just started tackling the parkway a month or so ago and didn't realize how unprepared I was until I kept just pushing more and more.
I've got some cages that are up in VA in a basement that go on my bike that I'm picking up next month to start using.
Hopefully picking up a hand me down road bike of my Pop's that is super good shape that he doesn't ride.
My goal is to do a 3-4 day camping trip by end of Summer on the parkway. Working on fixing up the bike with saddle bags soon and updating my camping equipment.
PUMPED.
also just got back from a good 15 mile ride...fuuuuuuuuck that felt good.

Look at velcro straps from retro active or pure fix. They're kind of a pain to get in and out of but they work really well once you get going. They're a good compromise in between toe cages and clipless pedals. Clipless is really wheres its at for distance riding though.
