This works fine for a living room couch test. Fuck yeah. How's the beat making going? Have you progressed to trap music yet? I do want an 808 now... So...

I wish I had an understanding like that. My theory goes as far as "that sounds out of tune"

"A musician transcends technique in order to express emotion."
Mind bottling. This is the type of stuff that only a master would understand.

I do want an 808 now... So... Volca Kick I got a volca bass a few weeks ago. I haven't spent much time on it, but the learning curve compared to the beats feels much steeper. I picked up on the basic functionality of the beats in literally minutes, this bass not so much. I'm also not sure it's what I wanted it to be. Kicks will be next, but with the nicer weather I haven't been spending any time in the music room.

Just a little bit of sparkle and those volcas will shine. You might also look at a cheap midi control keyboard. Your getting into synth territory with the bass and trying to play anything on the little strip they give you is hard.

I built another microphone kit. Overall it was successful and the mic works but the donor chassis was a lot harder to work with - an MXL V250 not an MXL 990 like last time. The circuit board on this one is split so you have to build 2 boards and then jumper them together to fit it inside. Not my cleanest build but it sounds fantastic. I used the RK12 capsule so it is slightly brighter than Micparts.com's Neumann-style RK47. I bought a different model intentionally to have something that wouldn't sound the same since the JFET circuit is very similar for both kits.

Populating the boards Finished boards ready to install Upgraded capsule visible under the grille cover. I had a hard time connecting the XLR jack wires to 1 2 and 3 on the board because they're so tiny so the joints are ugly but it's done. Tested and working!
