I thought it was good. There was some pretty bad sketches but overall OK.
Elon is even weirder than I thought. Clearly not an actor either but he did alright.
My favorite was weekend update when they were like "ok, but what is it"

Every Sunday morning on avclub.com there is a story about last night's SNL, along with at least half a dozen video clips, and I'd be down to check some out, but everytime I do I get the 'this video is not available in your country' message, so I have no idea if the show's any good or not at this point.
There seems to be this common denominator of when SNL is considered to be good - that being when you are in middle school or high school, maybe a bit into the college years. And then it becomes "it ain't as good as it used to be back in xxxx." Doesn't matter if you're talking about the original cast (which I think is a bit overated. Yeah, there's classics in there, but if you ever watch them, there's a lot of duds too. The very early years get extra points because for the time it was new and edgy, and everyone was doing a lot of dr00gz, whether a part of the show or at home watching) or the current cast.
There's probably somewhere around 5% of the skits that are truly funny and will be lasting comedy classics. A bunch of forgetable, but funny in the moment skits, maybe that are kind of too attached to their point in time to be lasting classics, and then a bunch of unfunny meh to outright boring skits. Probably applies evenly across the run of the show with some seasons being slightly more responsible for the 5% than others.
Oh, and Elon Musk can go fuck himself in zero gravity while shooting himself into space on one of his rockets.

www.vox.com/culture/2021/5/7/22421455/elon-musk-snl-host-saturday-night-live-controversyThe Musk controversy breaks down along familiar-enough generational lines — Boomers: “You kids get mad at anyone you disagree with!” Millennials/Gen Z: “The hoarding of wealth is destroying the planet!” Gen X: “Why doesn’t anybody care about The Simpsons this much? — that I think it illuminates the main reason SNL can still dominate headlines. Baby boomers still control most of our levers of institutional power, and SNL is one of their most beloved cultural institutions.
