lasagna can be delicious, but in the general ranks of italian food, its not one of the top dishes.
no one has even mentioned gelato yet either if we want to bring desserts into the conversation.

These are all different categories of food. Lasagna is an entree. Cured meats and desserts aren’t comparable.
And it’s a great entree. I’d choose it over most of the other pasta dishes out there.

Pizza is fabulous but I've had way more shitty pizza than I have had shitty lasagna.

"shitty lasagna" aka veggie lasagna.
Gotta be from the same people who brought you pineapple pizza.

McDonald's has served something like 53 Trillion - doesn't make them (or burgers) the best meat in the land.
Who da Itralians in this forum? They're opinions should carry more weight. Also people who've spent enough time in Italy.

for the lasagna-stans in this thread, do you go to a nice italian restaurant and ever order their lasagna? its like ordering the flank steak at a steakhouse, you just don't do it.
i've never said its bad, its just not a top tier italian dish.

Pizza is fabulous but I've had way more shitty pizza than I have had shitty lasagna. Is that because pizza is more easily and readily available than lasagna? Do you go out and normally get lasagna or do you get it every now and then? Like think about it, we have all traveled before, at the end of a long trip/vacation are you ordering a 12" lasagna or are you getting a 12" Za brah?

I'm done beating my head into the wall. Lasagna kicks all kind of ass, put it on whatever tier you think is appropriate, it's staying on my top tier.

I don’t understand how we keep going back to pizza.
We’re not talking about calzones or Stromboli.

Since this thread is taking a foodie turn ima just say how utterly disappointed I am in the food here. I've been to enough restaurants at this point to not get my hopes up. The plate comes out, it looks great, you think this is the time I'm gonna kick the football, you stick that first forkful in your mouth, and once again the first impression is 'where's the flavor?' Don't be fooled by the colorful pictures you may see.
Argentines don't do spicy. They don't even do spices. I read a thread on another forum where someone mentioned they were at a gathering and the sandwiches that had black pepper were marked so no one would get an unpleasant spicy surprise - that's what passes for spices/spicy here. If there isn't a salt shaker on the table (there usually isn't) you have to ask the waiter to bring you one. Those in the know say it's because of the strong ties to European culture, but why they got to emulate British cooking? Why not Italy or France or Spain?
I've been to Latin American countries with worse food, but damn, I miss Peru and Mexico. They know how to eat.
Reminds me of that old joke - just substitute Argentina for the cooks in hell:
In Heaven the cooks are French, the policemen are English, the mechanics are German, the lovers are Italian and the bankers are Swiss..

Lasagna is one of my favorite foods.
BUT it seems the nicer the Italian restaurant the worse the Lasagna gets.
Don't give me that single portion in a bowl. I want a slice from a huge sheet.
Also Stoffers Lasagna FTW. one if the best frozen meals of all time

Stoffers L was a favorite high school/college after class snack. Good standby to have in the freezer during my bachelor years for those times when I was too lazy to cook.
Something weird about Italian restaurants. No matter how good everything else is, bread at even the top tier ones can be disappointing. What's up with that?
