moe. played it on jamcruise a couple of years ago. I swayed to and fro but was not overly thrilled. It just seems like a waste of time

Tonight was my chance to see them in WA but it's a cashgrab fest that seemed complicated to get to and stat at, 4 hours and a boat ride away.
Could have been fun if I fully committed to a fest and took the day off.
Goose was an outlier on the bill tomorrow is modest mouse

So i saw Goose live at Sacred Rose fest. Nothing about their set was bad. It was enjoyable, with some solid jams. TBH the vocals were not as amazing as some people make them out to be, but when you only listen to jambands I guess you could say they sound good.
As far as the hype, I just really don't get it. To me they were basically Phish Lite, maybe 90's Phish Lite but still. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I can totally understand why Trey likes them so much. They are good but are they really doing anything innovative and interesting that jambands before them haven't done? No, i don't think so. If you like them and want to travel to see them, more power to you but imo they are no different from any other band before them. I would 100% go to see them again when they play Chicago again but I would never go out of my to go someplace else to see them.
Also, people talk about the big crowds that they bring, that certainly wasn't the case for Sacred Rose. I mean they had a lot of people at their set but I don't believe they had more people at their set than either of Umphreys or Phils sets

I didn't make it to Goose, lol. I have been in park on the interstate for over 30 kins due to some accident though. 10 minutes from home! Fun...
