i finally won money on the kentucky derby after betting on it for like the last 5 years. had mystic dan at +2000 (or 20 to 1) for $5 into $100. and i missed my superfecta box by one horse, had mystic dan, forever young, sierra leone and fierceness, and if fierceness finished 4th i would have won close to $400 off $2...soooo close.

the series was awesome per usual. no bracelet or fat pile of cash, but a skinny pile of cash is better than going home broke. for full transparency below are all my cash game sessions i played while there, location and stakes, and the "1/3" or "2/5" is the blind structure. +315 WSOP 1/3 +1650 Ceasars 2/5 (won biggest pot of my life in this game) +215 WSOP 2/5 -865 Ceasars 2/5 -145 Bellagio 2/5 +1100 Orleans 2/5 +55 Venetian 2/4 -700 Venetian 1/2 PLO (different game variant) -175 WSOP 1/3 +85 Bellagio 1/3 +475 Venetian 1/3 (post dead show to avoid rideshare line and cleaned up lol) +263 WSOP 1/3 and i was down -960 in tournament buyins while there. one bracelet event $400, $160 donkfest at ceasars, and 2 $200 bullets at Orleans tourny. made a little over 2k in cash games, minus tourny buy ins = a little over 1k profit on the trip. either can keep that in my roll or pay off the CC for the extra hotel night/dead ticket lol. |

I stayed at the Orleans the first time I went to Vegas and I played some poker there... One tournament... Didn't last too long... Everybody was trying to double up every hand and just buying back in over and over for the first hour...I was not used to playing like that

yeah i like the orleans poker room. lotta locals there, and not as touristy as the rooms on strip.

NRFIs, YRFIs, strikeout props, hits props, etc. i had like $20 ish in my bovada account in vegas, put it all on Skenes over strikeouts one of those games and spun up the balance to like $160 ish. then lost it all back in the last couple weeks based on stupid results and very close misses on a lot of strikeout props. #degenprobs |

and as such i've decided to retire from sports betting until football season. i appreciate your understanding and support in this difficult time. Back when the Super Bowl was played in late January I had a friend who would retire from sports betting and drinking until March. February was his dead zone for things to bet on and since he wasn't gambling and it was the shortest month he decided to make it his alcohol free month. Come March 1 he was tan, rested, and ready to jump back in. |
