Europe is like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football that the US President is holding. Sure, Biden talks a lot nicer than Trump did, but y'all need to start judging by actions, not flowery words about allies returning to previous normal relations after Trump shit all over them. Maybe the US figures the EU has no other alliance options other than Russia and China so they can treat her like shit? www.politico.eu/article/joe-biden-ira-inflation-reduction-us-ignores-eu/

hmmm... sounds more like EU hand-wringing.
I spoke to a very old friend from Germany a couple of weeks ago. She said there are more American soldiers in Bavaria than ever before, even more than The Cold War. They are all terrified of crazy ass Putin.
Pretty sure we'll ultimately take care of the EU in this regard.

I have no doubt the US will maintain (or increase when possible) troop levels in the EU and continue to profit off the war in Ukraine; both of which are firmly aligned with historic US foreign policy goals. It's the American way. Something about never letting a good crisis go to waste.
The EU has a point, but will likely continue to take it in the ass like a bitch because compared to Putin and China the US is the lesser evil. But they won't like it and will continue to be resentful - esp. when paying 4x the price for energy compared to the US who is selling it to them.

I imagine labor leaders aren't happy, but are practical, and realize that everything would be worse for them if the GOP has any control over negotiations. At least the ones who remember what Reagan did to PATCO.
They'll keep taking whatever they can get because there's no current better viable option. Something that's likely to carry over into the '24 elections considering America is a mostly center-right country.

It's weird. I see Union Home signs paired with Republican signs in yards around here. Not a lot, necessarily, but still. Weird.

I think Democratic voters aren't often yard sign people. I'll see bumper sticks and the occasional Biden/Harris sign. I saw a ton of signs out for Lee Zeldin but it doesn't always translate into votes.

Or anti politician.

Out of the 12 unions, 4 of them oppose the deal brokered by Biden. Edit* my bad it seems like those 4 unions represent a majority of the rail workers. However, they are getting what sounds like concessions on using unscheduled leave and a 24 percent pay raise. Biden is just saying that he's not going to give them paid sick days to avert a strike. Should they get the sick days? Absolutely. Should they be able to wreak havoc on the national supply chain over it? Not so sure.

That is good news!
It's insane Lindsay Graham would be publicly against this basic stuff on TV and act how he does in private.

What's the over/under on total pages for this thread during Biden's presidency? I'm gonna set the line at 262.5 to start, and I think I'm leaning under. Should be a defensive battle compared to the president shithead thread... oddsmakers were way off. on the plus side, the under is looking like a lock.
