-People outside of WNY generally don't know this, but white hot dogs are a thing. That kick ass! -Yeah man, I dig me a white hot. But I definitely didn't know they were a thing before I moved here.

in your general direction -Cool. I suppose I can be tacky at times. But I don't see how it relates to white classism. Seems like a shot for the sake of a shot. I'm not mad about it though.

I'm not saying that people prefer good grammar because they are racist, but that the educational system was built on white classism. Definitely agree with this statement In written word, punctuation is going to convey meaning and clarity, which is important. I'm definitely going to correct bad grammar in any assignment that's turned into me (I teach college courses) Internet communication (memes, posts, etc.) is more in-line with spoken word. Race is a factor in dialect, words, phrasing, so trying to correct how someone speaks informally is definitely a form of classism. The confusion lies in whether you see written word on the internet as formal or colloquial.

That is correct So, the pertinent thing to do would be to identify that white classism, shed light on it, and try to understand how it affects everyone in order to avoid perpetuating backwards and outdated social norms.

I'm not trying to make it a personal attack but that whole "I don't talk about how much I make because its tacky" is totally rooted in classism. Is it tacky for the fast food workers or truck drivers whose pay is posted on the door? Is it tacky for the millions of govt employees, military service members and educators whose income is a matter of public record? Because they don't have the option to say "oh sorry I won't discuss that it's tacky".

I see what you're saying. I'd still be uncomfortable discussing how much money I make with you guys or anyone else for that matter though...not sure if that's related to classism though.

It seems like that would be better. Should we start a thread?

Again I'm not trying to make it personal, you can talk about whatever you want or not. But you're leaving me open to assume it's way too much if you can't justify it based on your skills and experience in relation to your field.

Chronic- the educational system was built on classism and racism and those systems are still upheld today. If they weren't, schools in the hood wouldn't be awful.

I will admit that I make good money, but I've worked hard to be where I am today and have stayed with the same company for 16+ years. I have a post-graduate degree and almost 10 years experience in my current field. I'm still not going to tell you how much I make though.
