Workers should be banding together with other workers but our rugged American individualism tells us they must not be working hard enough otherwise they'd make more. The reality is large swaths of jobs are simply underpaid and people are too worried about the Big Mac price going up (even when McDonalds CEO says it wont) and seven dollar gallons of milk to actually do something politically that will ultimately benefit everyone.

I also subscribe to the pragmatist philosophy that if the message is recieved correctly by the intended audience then everything else is extra. Grammar does have a purpose though, to provide clarity by making a message easier to understand, and to elevate its credibility. I like it when people use a Question Mark at the end of their questions. I dislike questions without the (?) at the end. Even in text I really appreciate that type of punctuation. My biggest pet peeve is when people spit gum into a urinal. I really hate that. |
