Couple few weeks ago I decided to tune out. Read less articles, skip over NPR stories having to do with politics, etc. News yesterday said two weeks till Election Day. I know only the first part ends in 2 weeks and that we'll likely have to wait until the inauguration for this shit to be done, but tuning out seemed to make the time fly.
::condolences to anyone living in a battleground state. i can just imagine it's all tv/radio campaign commercials, billboards, lawn signs, rallies talked about on local tv, etc.. ughhh.::

It feels great, but I can’t do it forever.

I thought it would be worse. Like I'd lay off social media for October.
It's really not been bad. LOTS of spam texts but my phone has been taking care of most of those to spam text folder that's great.
I have been watching some national sports and the tv ads are bad.
I'm in western WA so it's like 80% libs

A local moron running for Assembly stole a flier of his opponents out of the mail box and was caught on camera. He still hasn't responded to any news outlets.

Word on the street is he groped the teenage daughter of a donor at a fundraiser and there is video. His supporters will just says it's doctored or they just won't care but it won't help him any either.

Young dumb-ass gets busted and then owned by some middle aged libs. Shoulda called them crazy, told them to fuck off and call the cops if they want, then drive away and ditch the signs/evidence and then tell the cops that he doesn't know anything about what the crazy libs are going on about. But instead he gives his 'it wasn't me' and 'I don't know' excuses before repeatedly caving seconds later and admitting his guilt on camera. Polite dumbass even politely waves at the camera that's filming his confession and proof of his crime. Lotta these fascists are all talk, but confront them and the tough talk disappears as they crumble.

I got my ballot for early voting but haven't filled it out yet. I probably will this weekend but I need to do a little research on some of my local constituents before I blindly vote for them. As for the main event. I'm over it and i'm fucking sick of it. I don't want watch a single news outlet for the next 2 weeks. I just want it to be over, I want our country to celebrate the first women president, I want the asshats on the other side to absolutely melt down and claim fraud, but most importantly, I just want it to be over because I can not listen or read about either side anymore, it just gives me a headache.

I always like going in and voting on election day. Just realized I'm employed and will probably be working 12 or so hours that day. Guess I need to scoot over today or tomorrow while I have time.

I put my early mail in ballot and my wife's in a drop box two weeks ago. According to Republicans, I broke like three laws while legally voting.

What are some ways that the democratic party could be more competitive and successful as a political entity?
How do you feel they fall short in both policy and presentation?
Can positive changes be made with the existing representation of the democratic party or would it take a broader overhaul of the party representatives?
*something to keep in mind; are the positions you hold on issues competitive in the political arena or are your stances in a losing minority?
This is meant to be through the scope of what is practicable and can gain broader support as opposed to personal positions that may be fringe in practice
