It was two different pitchers. The reliever came in and hit three straight batters before he uncorked a wild pitch. A true team effort.

isn't that what the minors is all about for a pitcher. Trying to maximize the most of what they have while trying to balance their control. Keep those pitchers in because they have to learn to work through those issues if they ever want to make it in the bigs. the team that got no-hit and won is the WHite sox affiliate

It's almost more amazing to get one hit in a double header. Go Sox!

Sucks. Pittsburgh had such a nice home weekend honoring Cutch and all.

The Tatis Jr-less Padres brought the Braves crashing back to Earth. Ugly.

Dodgers got swept by the Dbacks. If their young pitching is what it’s supposed to be, they’re going to be a problem pretty soon.

Yeah that makes no sense to me. Looks like owners were just looking for a reason to sell more beer

I think they should sell booze until the game is over!
If someone is driving they shouldn't be buying a beer in the 8th in the first place.
Stadiums and owners are doing drunk drivers a safety favor?
Maybe but people should regulate themselves

Maybe we should install breathalyzer ignition in all cars?

I think not extending beer sales would be a more reasonable action.

they only extended it because the time of games are shorter overall.
doesn't make sense to me either but we're a nation of idiots, so are we really that surprised?

I actually didn't know it was the stadiums option. It's been a baseball rule as long as I've known, even in minor/local leagues.
4 teams have changed it to 8th.
I get it with a 4 hour game. But it's getting shorter now. Mariners had a 2 hour game already. 90 minutes of beer.l service.
Maybe people will start showing up on time. Gates open like 90 minutes before, yet seats fill into the 3rd.
I'm guessing it's more liability than safety
