Ketchup has its places, and those places are on fries, on burgers and in the fridge.

I don't know if it's a latino thing or just my family, but those locos put it on pasta dishes. I've got no Italian blood, but I'm appalled and even insulted by that. They also use a lot of mayo for non-white people. Both stay in the fridge, so at least they got that right.

^ Guatemalan in-laws put it on Chinese food.
It's horrifying.

^ Guatemalan in-laws put it on Chinese food. It's horrifying. My wife made up an English word the other day when she told me that something was horrorful. She meant to say horrible, but horrorful works as a word. Putting ketchup on pasta or Chinese food is horrorful.

They also slather corn-on-the cob with mayonnaise. And my oldest will only peeled apples with lime and salt...
Also horrorful

Sometimes I like combining sweet and salty, so I might at least give peeled apples with lime and salt a try just to see what it's like. But mayo on corn on the cob? Not happening. Ever.
Pizzerias in Peru serve pizza with a dish of salsa and a dish of mayo (that's more liquid than solid) on the side. And they look at me weird for doing the fold and eating pizza by hand instead of with a fork and knife. Weirdos when it comes to condiments - and not the good kind of weird.

I remember my dad would salt watermelon (which I remember thinking was kind of weird), but the man knew how to use condiments and where to store them.
