going in to get 15 million shots in my gums for deep cleaning. guess this is what i get for only going to dentist every 5 years. no cavities atleast. shrugs.

Today's Sicilian adventure: the natural gas is out. We don't have hot water or a stove. It could be worse; I'm using a charcoal grill for dinner anyways and the oven is electric.

What's the worst part about living in Italy? Is that you have to ask for water when you sit at a restaurant or the fact that they don't give you ice once you ask for the water?

They always offer water at restaurants. Maybe that's a misnomer. Usually it is in thick glass branded bottles that keep it cold. I have actually never asked for ice. Ice comes with cocktails if they call for it. Soda water is popular here so they usually ask you if you want frizzante which is carbonated or naturale. Foreigners never order frizzante. Some restaurants use tap water in a carafe, and some have sealed glass bottles. Either way it's cold when served.
Worst parts about Sicily is infrastructure and repair schedules. There is no 1 Hour AC service here.

My experience in Europe is they never gave us ice anywhere. Water was cold though.

Question for anyone. Could you let your drivers license expire and then decide not to renew it? I know that I couldn't for a variety of reasons. Thoughts?

You could but you’d need to stop driving, and of course there are a variety of places that wouldn’t take your ID anymore, so you might drink less. |
