Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was good. I'd put it in the REALLY good category because the last 20-30 minutes or so were fairly epic but everything leading up was ok

Django wasn’t worth the film it was printed on and I have no interest in ever watching that one again. The Hateful Eight was boring as shit.

django is a solid film and i'd put it middle of the pack for tarantino. jamie foxx and waltz kill their roles in that film. the KKK scene is hilarious. samuel L being the butler at the end was fantastic as well. i understand why people might not like that film though.

Dusk til dawn? Nah
Four rooms was good. But if I remember he only directed one scene.
Probably pulp fiction.

I think Django Unchained is pretty solid. That movie looks spectacular too. It's a step down from Inglorious Bastards, imo.

I thought OUATI Hollywood was spectacular. I haven't seen Django in a while and I was probably a baked gourd when I did see it. Haven't seen Hatwful Eight, Jackie Brown, or Death Proof and I heard the latter was probably the worst

Letter grades are in comparison to other QT movies, not everything else out there.
Res Dogs - Major points for making movies interesting again at a time when they were kind of meh. It was like a second coming of the new wave of the 60s/70s directors that made movies interesting again. Those major extra points make it an A-, but if it came out later in his career it might only be a B or B-
Pulp Fiction - Truly original and absolutely perfect. Changed cinema just judging by the # of PF'esque influenced copies. But the influence on cinema obviously goes far beyond inspiring copies. A+
Four Rooms - QT segment was the best. Adapting Hitchcock felt like an easy something to do before his next feature length film. Kind of like a band putting out a live or greatest hits album to buy some time before working on the next real album. Partially flawed, but fun. Perfect length. B-
Jackie Brown - Perfect. QT adapting Elmore Leonard is a perfect match. Probably his most 'down to earth' movie. Least Tarantino'esque of his movies while still obviously being a QT movie. I think the whole South Bay setting made it a more personal movie for him. My #1 between JB and PF depends on my mood. A+
Kill Bill I and II - Genre pics. B-
Death Proof - Genre pic. C
Basterds - Genre pic, but easily the best of his genre pics. The Shosanna and Hans Landa plot raises it above from being a straight up genre picture so I partially take that label back. B+/A-
Django - Genre pic. B-
Hateful 8 - Genre pic. Beautiful to watch, esp. the exteriors. Would've liked to have seen the 70mm roadshow version. Should've been a stage play for the amount of time spent in one place and subject matter. Only QT film that feels too long to me. C+
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - Finally, a non-genre QT pic. To me it seems better than everything since Jackie Brown (or at least Basterds) because it was subject he truly loved as opposed to just being a genre he loved that he wanted to put his stamp on. More personal than his genre pics. B+/A-
Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown (and less often Res Dogs) are the only ones I'll seek out for a re-watch. Once Upon a Time might be as well in a few years, but isn't now because I've seen it a few times and more recently compared to the others.
The rest I wouldn't go out of my way to put on, but if they were on cable and nothing more interesting was on and I was in a couch veg mood I'd watch them. They're all good, but I don't really have any desire to devote the time to watching them again. They've all got great, memorable scenes but I'm not sure if on the whole they hold up to being classics.
Basterds is not just the best of his genre pics, but is the only one where I could see myself seeking it out for a watch, esp. if I haven't seen it in a while. Kissing distance to being up there with his classics.

True Romance is also a damn good script and interesting movie. RIP Tony Scott I heard QT sold True Romance and Natural Born Killers so he could hire Bruce Willis for Pulp Fiction.

I bet True Romance hasn’t aged well. I was crushing hard on Patricia Arquette at the time but I bet Gary Oldman is super ridiculous offering dude an egg roll n shit and then Dennis Hopper’s extremely offending remarks to Christopher Walken won’t sound good now and that extremely violent beat down James Gandolfini gives Patricia Arquette was hard to watch in the 90s. I bet the only part that did age well is Brad Pitt smoking weed from the honey bear bong. RIP Tony Scott.

I tried to show Ladyrice this super cool Christian Slater movie called Pump Up The Volume but we didn’t get too far. It’s no Gleaming The Cube but it’s super cool movie.

I seent The Last Boyscout in theaters. Bruce Willis doing what he does best as a sleazy but cool private detective who smokes cigarettes and kicks ass while making wisecracks and Damon Wayans as his partner but he’s not a cop he’s a professional football player looking for revenge because Halle Berry gets murdered. The henchmen are almost as good as Lethal Weapon and the plot holes are silly but the action is top notch Tony Scott. I think they even say “it’s now the 90’s” in the ending dialogue which is great. Must watch again.
