i'm kinda with gerg on draymond, that he's overrated. he could never be the leader of a team to win a ship, not even close to talented enough. for every positive attribute you list, you can think of twice as many negative attributes he brings. if he didn't ride the coat tails of steph and klay who are historically great shooters, that team would have been blown up long ago due to draymond's antics. also firmly believe this was premeditated from draymond. its been reported he doesn't like playing when steph isn't playing (bitch mode lol) and he has no part of the initial scrum between Jaden/Klay. he ran in a few seconds after and wouldn't let gobert out of a headlock. premeditated ejection = load management when steph is out. That would make this all even more fucked up and make me hate Draymond even more. |

Being a great basketball player isn't limited to shooting. Dennis Rodman was a great basketball player and a huge asshole who couldn't shoot a lick and brought a lot of negatives to the table. He couldn't be the leader of a Championship team either, but some of his teams wouldn't have won one without him. I feel the same exact way about Draymond. I don't think Clay could be the leader of a Championship team either. Sometimes you just need several great pieces instead of just 2 superstars.

I understand he serves his purpose, which makes him a great role player, but I still believe he gets a lot more credit than he deserves. Rodman replaced Horace Grant's role during the 2nd 3peat. It can be argued that Rodman is one of, if not the best rebounder of his era and a top 5 defender in his era, I don't think you can make similar arguments about Draymond.

Draymond has made the All-NBA Defensive team 8 times and is in 28th place all time for rebounding. He's also won 4 championships. Not seeing the difference.

I support the Rodman comparison. I liked diamond during the warriors peak but over time he is a complete asshole.
