I listened to it in its entirety and it sounds like The Rolling Stones. Some of the guitar riffage is legit 70s and some sloppy tight soloing and Mick Jagger sounds pretty decent and Paul McCartney guests on this punk rock track and also their new drummer Steve Jordan sounds alot like Charlie Watts so yeah I dug it y’all

I, too, liked it a lot. Some of it I would say could pass as Mick solo material, but the Stonesy stuff is unmistakably Stones. Kudos to them for still creating.

On first listen I thought it was a good, not great, Stones record. They certainly sound good, but I'm thinking at 80 a lot of that in this case has to do with production/engineering, esp. with Jagger's voice which miraculously sounds like he hasn't lost a step. Like he's given up any drugs/smoking that would affect his voice and now is on a steady diet of freshly harvested Adrenechrome. The guitars sound good, but the solos and riffs so far aren't as memorable to me. Same with the songwriting. I did like that it captured the old sound while still sounding modern, but not trying to sound like they're chasing whatever the current styles are. Sort of reminded me of Tattoo You; they dug out some old songs/demos/recordings that didn't make prior albums, re-worked them, spruced them up, re-recorded.
To me the songs sound like they could've fit on some of their 70's/early 80's records (but with modern production values) and the music video for Angry maybe reflects their intent when writing/recording with the living retro billboards that called back to their earlier periods.
I think they (wisely) delivered what fans want them to sound like instead of trying to push things in any kind of new direction, which might be lazy/boring/unwanted for a younger artist and their fans but makes perfect sense for the Stones at this stage of their career, esp. if it may be their last album.
Ima give it another listen or two and see if it grows on me more before I make a final decision on whether I'll add it to my Stones collection, but I'm happy to see them still doing their thing without just releasing some tired sounding product to tour on.
