Is anyone checking this out? It appears some may be right in the path. chickenpoop you appear to be in a fantastic location and just curious about Nelson ledges, do they have camping that early? I went to TN the last one and it was real neat.

I'm only a few miles from the absolute line or whatever. They are saying we will have a bunch of visitors coming from all over to view it. It would be pretty cool to experince, but being early April, I expect it to rain.

My sister wants to have a party. Lady's daughter's fiance has a farm and has been renting out spots for people to camp. I'm leaning towards watching from my deck.

I think our friends in western NY are aligned, it would probably be better if they planned this for June instead of April. 😂

I'll be pretty close and hoping to finalize somewhere to view in totality.

It's pretty fucking cool. Birds get super confused and start going to bed.

I'd invite everyone over, but I might go to work that day and watch it while on the clock. Monday'd...

Yeah, we will be right in the path. Camping will be open then at the ledges, but man, it could be anything from 60s and nice to snowy/rainy in NE Ohio then. Camping conditions could vary!

The forecast has gotten a little better each day as Monday approaches. Mostly sunny... Our office closes at noon, due to traffic and congestion concerns. I'm going to walk the four blocks to work and back so I don't lose my spot. With the cloudy forecast to the south of here, I think it will get nutty.

If I didn't ramble in another thread I have a lot to say about the situation but it's not good.
I had planned this since 2022 but tried to book my vacation back in December and the flights and hotel prices were fucked.
Originally the plan was a Texas vacation to Austin and the totality zone.
But that didn't work and I looked at a bunch of other options like st louis, Ohio, buffalo, Vermont.
Everything was waaay overpriced if not sold out and it was just a major bummer.
Sad weekend for me. I was supposed to be in Texas. I'm about as far away as you can be in USA. 18%'d

I'm mostly mad at myself for not booking it last year. I thought 5 months was enough but I was late to the game.
We went to OR in 2017 with low expectations and had an incredible time
To everyone in the totality zone enjoy the short moment.
And remember 1 mile out is not close enough! Your in or your out. Get in there!
I stayed with friends the night before in 2017. We had to leave at like 8am to drive 10 miles and they didn't want to. Crazy! 99% is basically normal day
