I did a search and didn't see any recent posts on this subject, so I case you didn't catch this in the news..............
There was a huge solar flare recently, like largest in 20 years, and for the past few nights there's been a good possibility of seeing the northern lights as far south as Alabama and Texas. I've been checking every night, but it was cloudy here all weekend. But I've seen some awesome photos and videos from all over the country (including upstate NY where I know some of you are), and there's a chance again tonight. It's actually clear here today! Supposed to be showers tomorrow but I don't know how early the clouds are supposed to move in. Best viewing is supposed to be between like 10pm and 3:30am. Crossing my fingers I'll get lucky tonight........

Nevermind, I just saw the space thread........ It didn't show up in my search, probably because I only searched northern lights, not aurora borealis.
