any of you use any of those fancy hearing protection ear plugs at shows? if so, what brand/style do you use and do you like them?
been thinking about getting some, for the indoor shows.

I have a pair of ear peace (I think that's what they're called) but I've never actually worn them at a show...I always forget to take them

I tried Hearos and they worked good with one glaring exception: when the band hits the resonant frequency of the plastic earplug material, it amplifies the sound! So basically I was good until that shit happened and made it worse than the broadcast volume. I have since went back to regular old purple foam plugs. Hearos is a cool design with a small tube and dampening surroundings but they need to find a different material.

Forget what I have, they're ok
Prefer to just go plug less

I also have Eargasm plugs. I bring them for indoor shows, sometimes I need them, sometimes not. I can keep a lil acid in the case they sit in too. Very handy.

Nope but pretty sure I have shoved a bar napkin or something in. It's bad when your ringing at setbreak.
I think widespread panic might have been the loudest show I've seen. It was clean, just turned up to 11. Oh yeah I brought plugs to TOOL. I had up front seats at an arena show. Thought ahead and was glad to have them

I don’t use anything but I’ve also just been to one show where I truly regretted it and that was Ace Frehley like 15 years ago at Center Stage in Atlanta. It was the loudest show I’ve ever been to, and he was asking at certain points for them to turn him up more. My ears and general wellness were off for probably two days.

Primus and WSMFP are the two shows that really fucked me up. Primus was outrageously loud. Panic was in the early days and I was right up front in front of a huge speaker. Had several days of ringing.
