I just got back from my first ride ever. Spock says I'm pretty good for a mom!!!  It was so fun. We took his skateboard and his longboard and took turns. I definitely prefer the longboard |

I'm thinking about buying a deck, trucks, bearings, etc.... Bout 150 altogether for the board I want. Going to go with composite rther than wood fuck breaking and buying decks all the time.

22mph on a board is fast.
I get over to the skate park by my house every once in a while, I try and go when no one else is around because my body is too old to be trying the crazy tricks I just like to pump the walls in the pool. These days my wheels don't leave the ground other than the occaisonal Ollie just to prove to myself I can still do it.

22mph is Dngerous, not just fast. Iwould not advise anybody do that, Speed wobbles > Near Death
For some weird reason I learned how to heelflip before the kickflip, and had it down badass... Always my first skate move.

If I get a boosted board I would have knee, elbow, and helmet on.
Would be so sweet to commute to work.
I can get there on all nice bike paths.

The best feeling was comleting somehting you worked hard on, like an Ollie over a Stair set.
Invigorating. I once bombed a hill on a regular skateboard and biffed it pretty good..... ate pizza afterwards.

He definitely had as much fun "teaching" me and hanging together as I did  I'm gonna buy a long board and a cute little beach cruiser. my sister is only a mile away, my best friend is 2.5, the beach is 4. my girlfriend has already showed me the secret route to her house avoiding major roads. this summer will be awesome. different. but awesome. life goes on <3 |
