^ Still thinking about that line reading.
I watched Big Trouble in Little China today, what a fun movie. Kurt Russell fucking up the whole entire movie is so funny. John Carpenter rules.

I forgot to mention I watched The Highway Men with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson chasing down Bonnie and Clyde and it was a good slow burn with a nice bullet riddled finish. I liked it.

There is a Facebook reel/clip that always seems to pop up with John Carpenter ragging on Spielberg and Lucas and contemporaries. Looks like it’s from 78 or so. Always cracks me up.

I had seen bits of it before but it's really not a movie to catch in the middle, there's so much table setting to do before that. Definitely glad I watched it from the beginning. Kurt Russell is doing his best John Wayne impression in it and apparently it started as a western screenplay before John Carpenter got involved.

I'm watching Wild At Heart right now. What a cool movie. David Lynch fucking rules. Nic Cage is in the zone.

It’s no Blue Velvet that’s for sure. Willem Dafoe wins for creepiest role in his career and he’s played some creepy characters but yeah this one was creepiest for him.

Yeah, Willem is a ultra-skeevy.
So many allusions to the Wizard of Oz.

Lots of Twin Peaks-esque sounding music from Angelo.

I've been watching through the Nightmare on Elm Street series the past week. 4, 5 & 6 are duds. Wes Craven's New Nightmare is pretty cool, it was doing a meta thing before that was trendy. Heather Lagenkamp is the 1B to Jamie Lee Curtis's 1A.

I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey yesterday. That movie is truly genre defining and still looks amazing. It's incredible they were able to do all of it without actual computers. Exceptional work.

I saw The Apprentice today, very solid flick. Jeremy Strong is really good as Roy Cohn. It wouldn't be surprising to see him get some nominations for it. Sebastian Stan isn't doing a heavy Trump impression either so it doesn't feel like an SNL skit.
