I know one of the reasons he got the call was for vocal abilities, but they could've had T Lavitz. Yet another bad decision on the part of tGD.

Which goes to prove that if you make enough bad decisions it may be a right decision.
Hope that clears things up.

Good decisions come from having experience. Experience comes from having made decisions. I think tGD finally made the right decision to hang it up when Jerry died.

Three left turns really do make a right.

They needed to act fast before the Tubes followed up She's a Beauty with another smash hit, then they never could have gotten Vince.

I agree. I had been on tour full time for 5 1/2 years when brent died. I went to a few Vince shows but it had changed too much and they started repeating songs because he didn't know the music. It sucked, so I quit tour New Year's day 1991.

Does anybody count Vince as a member of the band?

No, but he makes the "keyboard players who have died" list.
Weird, right?

You need to count him to keep the keyboard player / spinal tap drummer thing going. Hornsby or TC is due for a terrible death soon.

No, but he makes the "keyboard players who have died" list. Weird, right? The dead's list or just the massive at-large keyboard players who have died list?

I am putting together a keyboard players who have died list. Starting with Beethoven era pianists.

I like some shows from 91 to 93 with Welnick but there was a lot of mailing in being done by then.

Vince was an extraordinary player and won the gig fair and square.

Does anybody count Vince as a member of the band? Vince Welnick was an official member of the Grateful Dead!
