It is a really good record--maybe the best of 2015.
That said, I miss Nels and Glenn a bit. Seems like Jeff went in for a lot more "mood" if you know what I mean. there's less space in the songs for Nels and the others to strut their stuff, and I hate that cuz they, again, especially Nels and Kotche, are really bad-ass musicians.
but I love some of the songs: especially more . . . , random name generator, you satellite, and I dig the way cold slope bleeds into king of you--kinda reminds me of how swept away bled into steep on billy breathes.

I like the Wilco'y turn the thread has taken.
Hopefully this next Star Wars makes up for Ep. 1-3. That shit was just a bad, CGI, puke fest with even less focus on dialogue and character than Lucas has shown in the past.

You didn't like the clone wars though or the revenge of the sith? Ep. 2 had its moments that were alright, definitely better movies in the series, and same goes with Ep. 3. But I do have to say that when they actually put the mask on vader in Ep. 3 and he takes that first breath, it was the only time at the movies I felt a crazy surreal sense come over me and I had goosebumps. Something I'll never forget. |

Ep 1-3 all just kind of blended together to me. That probably has as much to do with me as it does the films themselves because I didn't see them in the theatre or on DVD. Probably saw them on cable, perhaps in bits and pieces. Now that I think about it, I did see the third one in the theater when it came with some younger relatives and thinking it was okay. At that time in sci-fi movies everyone seemed to be overdoing on the CGI. You couldn't just have a dogfight in space, it had to be an EPIC dogfight with countless ships zipping all over the place so that you couldn't focus on any one thing. I felt like I was watching a video game.

i really enjoyed all the starwars. some more than others but overall happy with it.. we started the year by watching all on NYE.
wide eyed and having fun.
the first star wars released was the first movie we attended without our parents
