No wonder my gutters are falling off. They put the facia board up with fucking finish nails. This is a pain in my ass.

Could you kill two birds with one stone and attach the gutters with gutter spikes instead of straps?

I pulled the facia that was falling off and remounted it with screws and then put some gutter screws in. Fixed a couple issues and created another. Gonna have to replace a small section of gutter that wasn't pitched correctly to begin with. Tried to pull it off and get the tilt right but it had some screws in odd places and I just tore it up trying to take it down.

Never heard of screwing up gutters and not putting on trim with finish nails.

Those gutter screws (spikes) are awesome. They make hanging gutters look so much nicer and they'll hold your shit together for longer too.

Finish nails come in any penny size and in galvanized. A common nail head, behind a gutter or not, is just a bigger set hole in the wood to spackle and paint. And if you don't cover them and seal them, you're not a very good woodworker in my book.
Those gutter things are nice, never used them.

The facia board shouldn't be getting wet behind the gutter so I don't know why you would need to caulk it.

And for the record, I'm not a very good woodworker but I also wouldn't call nailing a board to another board "woodworking".
