I watched a thing on Dio last night on Paramount +. I was never into him at all but after watching I think I need to explore the Dio catalog. They have a lot of music stuff on there. Thanks for the heads up on this. I am going to check that out. I love some stoney, sludgey Ozzy Sabbath, but those two Dio Sabbath albums are brilliant. |

I think any metal fan will love the latest record from King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation (often shortened to just PetroDragonic Apocalypse) Gizz True y’all ! I totally turned on some hardcore metal fans tonight by playing Dragon and they were first talkative and quickly agreed with eachother the riffage was strong as they namedropped their other metal friends they would share it with who would love it and that was cool but as the drums built the circle and the bass guitar churned the lava they all shut the fuck up and became mesmerized by the Dragon. Afterwards they were genuinely excited when I told them the whole album is like this song. I did not tell them the band has 23 other albums that sound slightly different. That’s for them to figure out in their own. |

Last night I had a listening party with some music lovers and I chose King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse. The album is stellar metal and every song feeds the fire until it rages the inferno. Everyone involved was thoroughly impressed! Yknow who else was. This guy! Best Metal Performance Grammy please.

I bought the vinyl and listened to it last night. Pretty cool, but not everyday listening for me. I love the artwork on the cover and it's embossed for a 3d effect. |

I love when they do the stacked guitar parts. There is at least one example on the new one. This song is my favorite of the metal ones. The solo rips. This might be my favorite album too, because you get a few metal tracks and a few R&B/hip hop(sort of) and all sorts in between.

HOLY SHIT i just read the details of Randy Rhoads plane crash. I had no idea they were joyriding in a plane and buzzing their tour bus while it was being worked on. The wing clipped the bus on the third dive and sent the plane tumbling out of control, throwing Rhoads through the windshield, catching on fire and burning all three people inside beyond recognition.

Apparently the pilot was up all night doing coke, and it is speculated that he was trying to kill his ex girlfriend on the bus. the keyboardist was taking pictures with a zoom lens and swears that he saw the planes wings dipping side to side and that Rhoads appeared to be struggling with the pilot. it is quite possible that Rhoads saved her, and Ozzy and Sharon's life by fighting for the controls of the plane. Rhoads didnt like flying and only went to take photos from the air after being reassured the pilot would chill out.

I stopped by the brewpub today and was talking again how much I like that blackbraid music and my buddy broke down the distinctive elements of what black metal is and it became somewhat apparent why it suits me. Minor keys and lots of super heavy drums.
