I filled in for a bassist in a metal band in high school who fucked up his hand. All the guys in the band were metal, but I wasn't, other than having long hair. We were playing some back yard party and though they were happy to have me fill in they told me to dress metal. I improvised and wore my dark blue bathrobe that had a hood and huge sleeves. Wasn't great, but good enough.

On short notice needing to learn tunes, I would suggest giving the Live After Death album a listen and make some choices from that. Other suggestions made are all solid too. Their last 20 years of albums have definitley leaned more towards the long side/concept type stuff. Old school check out the song Strange World. |

I watched a thing on Dio last night on Paramount +.
I was never into him at all but after watching I think I need to explore the Dio catalog.
They have a lot of music stuff on there.
