Got out for a couple hours after work. RIP to the squirrel who ran right into my front wheel on a semi technical gravel segment. Thanks for not killing us both.

I spent a lot of time on my bike this weekend, and now this tree pollen has me all funky in the sinuses.

Went mountain biking this morning on some local trails. First time riding a big full suspension bike. I crashed twice. Second time coming off a fairly big jump. No major damage just banged my shin up a little. Fun times. Looking forward to going again and getting better at the bigger features.

I've ran over 2 chipmunks but never a squirrel. They seemed to be ok after an initial flip flop. We did go on a late night rail trail ride through the swamp that had so many frogs on the trail it was not even possible to avoid running some over. A few got flung with the spokes.

Only complaint is I'm almost an hour away from any decent trails and closer to 2 hours from any really nice trails. Still been managing to ride it almost every week.

I've hit two squirrels now. First one was on the fixie, it ran right in between the wheels and caught the rear one. I honestly didn't stop or turn to look at either of them but can't imagine they survived. Yesterday's might have.

I'm guessing that I'm aging. My confidence on jumps just isn't what it used to be. I wasn't never a particularly great jumper. But anymore I don't like being more than a few feet im the air. I'll hit some decent size tabletops that I can roll out of if needed but don't like big gaps at all.

I'm sure the difference between a high psi pizza cutter tire vs a low pressure mountain bike tire makes a huge difference to a little critter.

I may try to buy the one I rode today. Dude said he's asking 2k but would give it to me for 1500. It's pretty sweet. It's a 27.5 knolly delirium. Brand new fox up front, cane creek rear shock and I9 wheelset.

Slx components.

My daughter just had her sparkly ride wrap put on it and will be bringing her new timberjack slx home this weekend. She is going to be so impressed after riding her old beginner level gt into the ground. Not to mention it being the right size.

I want to say it's 160/140. The fork was big.

That's a lot of squish. I'll be jealous when your screaming downhill but not when your peddling back up.

Yeah it was definitely nice going over the rocks but a little hard to manage on the techy climbing sections.

ya the woods are a different animal than the roads...but both have different challenges.

The saying goes road but no mountain equals no soul and mountain but no road equals no legs.

Putting on lots of pavement miles definitely makes mountain biking easier. Even more so if riding the single speed. Doing a few twenty mile rides earlier in the week before a day of mountain biking really helps bring out my inner mountain goat.
