Well, I agree with that to an extent. If I had millions, I would like to taste some super expensive wine...like once or twice.

Sure, but I don't feel sorry for one of the Koch brothers because he outfitted the wine cellar of his castle with 8 million dollars worth of grape juice.

Watched Eagles of Death Metal from HBO over the weekend. It's pretty intesnse, it follows the band after the attacks at the Bataclan last year and their journey back to playing on stage in France 3 months later. Didn't realize that Josh Homme(Queens of the Stone Age) was a somewhat regular member of the band. Didn't really go in depth about much beyond the recovery of the band and their struggle to deal with the aftermath.

Yeah, I watched that too. I also watched Unlocking The Cage, about legal rights for animals. It wasn't that great, but sad for the animals.

The National Geographic channel is currently running a limited series documentary on Tuesday nights called Parched, all about our water supply. I missed the 1st one but plan to catch it when I can. The 2nd one was excellent (better than the description below sounds), highly recommended viewing. And I have the 3rd one set to record on this Tues. Not sure how many more there will be, if any.
Episode 1: Money Flows. This episode explores an alarming trend, where Wall Street banks control municipalities and hold the everyday American’s water supply in their grip.
Episode 2: Toxic Waters. Illegal dumping affects a cattle farmer's livelihood, and lax regulations for oil companies result in water contamination.
Episode 3: Global Water Wars. This episode of Parched zeroes in on India and Syria, two of the world’s most vulnerable hot spots for water-related conflict.

I also recently watched an episode of PBS's American Experience about the life of Rachel Carson and her environmentally groundbreaking 1962 book Silent Spring. Very interesting.

Did anyone watch the Mars tv series that the National Geographic channel aired last year? I had all 6 episodes DVR'd and finally watched them within the past couple weeks. It was half current-day documentary and half fictional story set in 2033 & 2037. The documentary part was pretty interesting. The story part was pretty ok. Overall I'd say it was well-made and hopefully it served its purpose of re-sparking public interest in the subject.
For days and days I had the theme song stuck in my head, which I noticed in the credits was by Nick Cave and some other dude. It's not even a catchy tune or anything, it's actually slow and moody and haunting, but damn I liked it.

Filo's Terry Kath avatar inspired me to watch the Chicago doc on Netflix. Strange how they went from being a part of the late 60's radical movement, to having a couple of huge songs getting them defined and caught up in mainstream 70's soft rock, to that whole 80's, MTV, mega stardom shit, to being a classic rock, travelling oldies act.
Interesting to see the early history, Kath's overwhelming influence, and the band member's opinions on their career's high and low points. Worth a watch if you're into their early stuff, for some reason a fan of their 80's stuff, or if you just want to see how it went all downhill once Kath died (and even a few albums before).

My brother, who is not good at music, absolutely loved Peter Cetera when he was in high school. I tried to convince him that the original Chicago was the get some and he wasn't having it. Glory of Love'd
