Condolences. I can relate. My younger by 9 years brother has always had (with a few exceptions) absolutely horrible taste in music. Horrible.

Cool to see betterweather back. Thank you. Good to be back. Had to disconnect from the internet for awhile to reassess the 'modern condition'.

I recently watched a 1-hour documentary on PBS called "Free To Rock", about the rise of rock & roll in the USSR throughout the cold war and how it contributed to the fall of communism. Very interesting, recommended viewing.
I also recently watched "The Seven Five", a documentary about police corruption in NYC, where a former officer tells how he and his partner accepted bribes, did robberies, ran a cocaine ring, etc, during the 80s and early 90s. Worth the watch.

The Defiant Ones on HBO was pretty good. I somehow made it 46 years without really knowing anything about Jimmy Iovine. It's pretty fascinating how this guy ended up working with Springsteen, Petty, Nicks, Smith, NWA, Dre, Eminem, U2, Kendrick Lamar, etc...

Today is the 10 year anniversary of the Cheshire Murders. If you have HBO, the documentary is horrifying but really well done.

finished up the Defiant ones. wow.. think i liked that better than the Supermench-Shep Gordon doc.
its amazing the artists he had.. no idea about Primus
i actually may have been in the last episode.. they flashed the audience during NIN 1994 woodstock appearance... we were center maybe 10 people back standing in maybe a foot of mud.. they flashed it really quick but it seemed like where we were standing relative to the performers

He was apparently a producer on that movie, pretty rad he branched out beyond music.

Watched I Am Not Your Negro: James Baldwin last night. A bit too drunk and drifting in and out but was good..
May have been the first black public intellectual that white liberals adopted as their own en masse. The look of fear and profound confusion and anger on his face dealing with them applauding him is quite the sight to see.. pure contempt

Watched the 'dockumentary' on Dock Ellis on Netflix. Alright, but not great. Interesting man. Not much more about his famous no hitter that hasn't already been said in the short video by No Mas, but more detail about his partying ways. Ferd/Pirates fans might find it more interesting. The Pirates were a pretty cool team back then.

I doc'd up last night HBO style.
Mommy Dead and Dearest. Tragic story of the most flagrant case of Muchausen by proxy syndrome. Heartbreaking.
I also watched a short one called Brillo ยข3. Its about one of Warhol's yellow Brillo boxes, and how it came to sell for almost $3 million. Neat.

I watched the Brillo one a few weeks ago. Pretty interesting story.
