I got one of those laser projector things for our Christmas lights this year. Much easier than hanging the icicle lights that I've done in years past. Our house is a wreck because we have a bunch of projects going on but we're hoping that we can have them all wrapped up by Saturday afternoon so we can clean up and go get a tree. I love Christmas. Amazon and Best Buy love that I love Christmas too...The UPS guy on the other hand...he's probably tired of my love for Christmas. we have two of those light projectors plus lights and some other stuff inside and out. i have a black "major prize" cover up over the window, that when lighted you can see the leg lamp nicely. so i got the second light projector to project swirly green and red lights on the lamp when its dark out.. pretty neat and trippy

our split Christmas were pretty solid after the first year and we sorted out whats best for the child.
i used drop the boy off or pick him up and hang out a bit with her family for years.
we all got along and im still friends with her family.
certainly not the ideal situation but you make the best of what you got. Boy never really put up a hassle.. more toys and food!!!

yeah i've never been a big fan of the split Christmas thing, it really puts a drag on the day and it gotten even worse as the years have gone on. Now I spend the morning with my mom, then drive to my pops house, go with him to his wifes fam and then we leave there to go to my aunts, then home. So all day i'm fucking criss crossing long island and since i'm driving I can't even have a few beers to take the edge off. Plus this is the first christmas I have where all my grandparents are gone so that's kinda weird. I think next christmas i'm going to ask my mom to go to Germany with me and we can just chill out with my cousin in frankfurt and then head to berlin or something. Ma, do you wanna go to love parade next year for xmas?

The ex and I alternate years with one of us having her for Xmas eve and Xmas morning and then meet up so the other one gets Xmas evening. It's kind of a pain in the ass for me and her mom but I don't think she's bothered by it.

Yeah it was like that for me too on the years I had to drop her off in the afternoon. But going home and drinking alone with movies is pretty nice too.

you guys are making me worried that spock secretly hates christmas because it's split up between two houses. As a kid I'm not sure of how aware I was of it. But looking back now, I can see how it was actually pressure on us kids to have to go to all the different places. Honestly, double gifts was pretty sweet. Sounds like you guys have a good handle on it anyway.
