I think the riot gear has to do with concerts bein blown up and shot up lately. Typical Maynard troll job fuckery with the crowd. He's always been respectful to authority. "Thank the Sheriff" at bonnaroo etc. He's a gun nut, pro cop, pro military.
Catering to his audience which runs the gamut

I can agree with that. I still think referencing snow flakes has to do with individuality.

One of my favorites. Awesome opener. The Grudge is a great song with a superb drum track and all the right elements of a perfect Tool song. A great opener for sure. My favorite opening song that always blows the fucking roof off the venue (even if is outdoors) is none other than Sober. Nothing is more intoxicatingly seductive as a Sober opener.

I can agree with that. I still think referencing snow flakes has to do with individuality. That's what I got from it. He wants us to be ourselves and we've all got to embrace each other's differences. He also said several times that "we can't do this alone."

So, we were in the upper bowl... Show starts, everybody is standing... By a few songs in, only about a third of our section is still standing. At some point, this chick behind Scooooooooooooooott!!! Starts kicking his chair and is really mad that he won't sit down. I was like, "this is a rock show, mama." She want having it, and kept kicking his chair so we left. Luckily, right at that time was the intermission and they opened up the floor to anybody for the second set so we kicked it down there.
This show was so fucking insanely fun. I had a big cheesy smile the whole time...

I don't think it's awesome, and how the band justifies their greed and laziness has no bearing on.my opinion.
They're a little young to channel their inner Rolling Stones, but if u lap it up, u lap it up I guess
