Halloween madness starts right now for me because I am really busy with obligations and such, and I have so much to get done before next Saturday. I'm having a Grateful Dia De Los Muertos party, and so I will be doing an 8 pumpkin Grateful Dead display to go with it. It won't get rolling until next Thursday. I'll try to post what I can, when I can, but the final one won't be until Saturday night. I didn't have much time tonight, but there's a pumpkin carving contest at a local pub tomorrow night. I will probably not be able to make it, but I wanted to drop off a pumpkin anyway. It's always my first of the year. I did an easy one that I had done before but lost the picture.... Anyway, post your pumpkins, or other people's pumpkins, or whatever halloween stuff you want here. I know. I know... TLDR KMS

Keep us updated Frodo. You do great work.
Going to be hard to top my daft pumpkin from last year. Really digging Tame Impala ~Currents album this fall. Going to be tough to carve that one out but I may try something Tame Impala inspired.

I painted pumpkins last week. I glossed over one gray one; it's one of the really flat ones and is not for carving. I made one glitter pumpkim for the inside of the house, which will allegedly keep until Christmas. I painted a traditional orange pumpkin black- this is our carving pumpkin. We will carve the day before Halloween. I think it will look really cool being black on the outside and orange on the inside.

Post your pics here.
I bought this really small pumpkin to try something new on - still don't know if it will work - but it had SO many seeds in it. I started drying them last night. I should be snacking on them all weekend.

We grew two white ones in the garden. Haven't tried carving yet. My oldest got a green and orange swirly pumpkin. It's so trippy dudes.

keep in mind pumpkin seeds and meat is very nutritious. dont waste it As soon as a pumpkin turns orange, people begin cooking pumpkins, and using them in every recipe they can find. At the same time, they ask "Are all varieties of pumpkins are edible?" The plain and simple truth is - - Yes, all varieties of pumpkins are edible. Of course, pumpkin seeds are edible, too. Both pumpkin flesh(pulp, or meat) and seeds taste good, and are healthy and nutritious. www.pumpkinnook.com/facts/edible.htm

Thanks Frodo. Im stoked about mine this year too. I have it in my head and ready to draw out.
I thought I read something about dunking your carved pumpkin in a vinegar/water mix to help preserve but all I'm finding are methods I would not use.

A lot of people use Lysol. The idea is it kills the bacteria and keeps bugs away to preserve the flesh.
