Resd8ng the timeline, it sounds like they had a long term physical relationship and it sounds like his wife knew about it and maybe they have some open arrangement. It also sounds like the accuser may have decided to exploit the situation for a pay off.
I say this because the extent of the timeline and that the behavior described sounds like the playful behavior of folks comfortable in sexual situations together. What was described doesn't line up with how other confirmed predatory behavior seems to happen.
Of course, we need to see the legal process through cause who knows how much more there is to this. Just the way these details were portrayed seemed fishy to me. It also may have been a power perception thing, her feeling like she had to submit to him or she would lose a gig she didn't see she could replace. Maybe the rape stuff was getting her drugged or intoxicated. It's so bizarre that someone would do all of that to someone for all that time without thinking they would face consequences, yet, this wouldn't be the first and won't be the last.
Avoid the potential of a sex scandal, folks...

In 2024 does Garth Brooks have much of a career to lose? I don't follow contemporary country, read Rolling Stone (or whatever has effectively replaced it), or follow celebrity gossip beyond whatever headlines are impossible to avoid (Diddy), so I really don't know. I thought Garth Brooks was a huge 90's phenomenon and then by the aughts not so much.

I don’t know if he retired from playing live but I do recall his concerts being hugely successful and I did see footage of some state of the art Vegas style production with raining onstage like Slayer but not blood just water and I remember him being the only artist that used record stores were not allowed to purchase and resell his used shit but I haven’t heard his name mentioned in atleast a decade even in twangbase. I did not read the article about him. But accusation is not necessarily truth of course. |

My theory is and I stand by it is he set the template for the bro country bullshit that still goes on today, a direct link to it.…..and that damn headset was the starting point of my argument. 👎 And don’t get me started on that Standing Outside the Fire video. |
