vibes to gerg fam. war sucks. and to be honest, not sure why the US would ever be involved in this war, but here we are... Not to get all history lesson here but the US' past isolationism led (in some part) to WW2. We've got the biggest and most funded armed forces, so if we don't flex the ones who can't play nice with their neighbors don't have much deterrent. I don't particularly like this but it is a necessary part of keeping some sense of global order Also a reasonable time to point out that Trump spent the entirety of his term undermining and destabilizing NATO. If NATO and the West are seen as weak, it is certainly a result of Trump’s efforts to pull us out of NATO. Of course Putin would seize on that. The idea that Trump did anything but weaken our standing in NATO, Europe and around the world is simply stupid. You can listen to your cable news and feel all you want about it but it's just fucking dumb and uninformed. |

A strong, secure NATO makes it much less likely we get drug into something like this. We spent the past four years weakening that security and now we get to deal with the fallout. Dumb. |
