There was literally a few thousand feet between me and a David Byrne show once. I did not go to that show. Why so FAIL? The last Beastie Boys show was going on.

I have never felt so torn yet so completely satisfied with my decision. The BB show was insane This haunts me all the time. I was at Byrne, and also was satisfied with my decision until MCA passed. Never did see the Beasties.... I feel like those two shows were everyone's favorite that year and they happened simultaneously On a side note, I'm going to the tour opener in Red Bank and am so fucking pumped |

I didn't even notice when all these new dates got added cause I was Jam Cruise bound that he's playing in Grand Rapids on the Wednesday before Detroit, which is merriweather weekend.
Was so pumped when I saw that, cause now I got to off those Hershey tix, and don't have to travel anywhere to see him AND can still do the phish at my favorite Phish venue.

I understand what you're saying but I disagree. Byrne wrote a bunch of awesome music with Talking Heads that is familiar and indeed will be played on the upcoming tour (and I'm super stoked about that), but it will be performed with a whole new set of musicians, instruments, and I imagine the arrangements will be quite different. Then, he's also going to have new material sprinkled in to the mix, which I'm also stoked about. You can say playing old songs is "retrospective" but I feel like they'll fit quite nicely into new arrangements and a unique setlist. That's quite a bit different than getting the same crew together to get the same reactions from the same songs played the same way (Nostalgia ter) |

Just got my promo code for my CD that comes with the concert ticket. So cool that they do that! Also weird that its a CD. Who buys CDs anymore?

I just finally redeemed mine. Idk why I had been slacking on it. I think its cool that they give you the cd. Although I feel like they could have given an mp3 dl too so you didn't have to wait to hear it. Honestly though if it were one or the other, give me the cd.

Yeah I didn't get awesome seats but it's at the new venue in DC and I've heard nothing but great things so I'm kinda thinking they're probably aren't too many bad seats in the house. The place looked awesome when I was watching the UM stream from their show there.
