A friend of mine who worked for me last year is super political. Liberal reactionary. Good dude all of that.
Truck driver comes down for a delivery from the quarry. He drops multiple tons of large patio stones in a tight 10ft wide opening with tree branches and powerlines directly over the dump body when he didn't have to. I deal with guy constantly. Great driver, and good human being.
He leaves. My buddy who says shit like this constantly goes and really puts thought into it, "Dude seems like a nice guy, but you can tell looking at him he voted for Trump. Fuck him." And it's said with malice and continued rants about Trump voters. Completely unprompted.
And I know this way of thinking is not exclusive to just him. If that's not a despicable way to act irregardless of the political situation in the country, Im the queen of england.
The political situation in the US has been dire idk 200 some odd years. That's the nature of the thing.
But, ya know, scapegoats. Im all done

Politics in this country is a joke.
People are being indoctrinated with how to think, and who to side with..
The right sucks, but the left does too- the hypocrisy on the left is very real.

My brother in law is all about Trump and still a good dude. Trump is barely a problem, it's the weird super christian dudes surrounding him.

Democrats need to move more left and stop the infighting.
Support the workers and healthcare.

My brother in law is all about Trump and still a good dude. Trump is barely a problem, it's the weird super christian dudes surrounding him. Hypocrisy on Both sides. I'll use Jesus to show the hypocrisy... Right: Christians who support Trump, yet somehow turn a blind eye on the fact the man doesn't walk like Jesus at all. In fact, he is the epitome of everything Jesus stood against. The blind support simply due to party affiliation. Left: Say something about race, muslims, jews, lbgt and there is sure to be some sort of rebuttal due to ignorance and hate (understandably so)...but anything negative said about Jesus or Christians is fair game...just look at the last page for an example of that. Indoctrination is real...

I really can't stand either party. I think that's the first step toward political freedom.. I figured things have to get worse for a bit more before they get better. The combined stupidity and arrogance of our current so called leaders may actually cause people to wake up enough to completely change and hopefully improve the way our world operates.

Bro, it's not just the leaders...the PEOPLE are engaging in it and picking sides...
But I agree, I said something similar in another thread. Paradigms don't shift without chaos..

The media has a lot to do with it..
One channel: Think this way Other Channel: No think this way
And they just fight each other.
But the people gravitate toward one side or the other usually....

I suppose I live in my own bubble. But more an more people seem to be sick of picking teams. The real die hard rights, left, liberals, dems, republicans and such are all starting to look like a bunch of loons. So attached to whatever side they choose they cannot even think straight or makes sense anymore.

Miles, why not sell the house and move?? I think about it all the time. Truly I would not be missing anything here. I rarely see friends. People that listen to me work at night would be disappointed. The schools Admin would not care, nor would the staff care either. My house keeps gaining value like crazy and the new construction in town is booming, next door to me is a property worth probably 2 million dollars. I am going to eventually be taxed out of my house by the city unless my job pays me better and I have no confidence in that. My hurdle is finding a job that is equal to the one I have or better. Paid vacation, sick leave, 401k, bereavement leave and group health. I like my job its not stressful, but it doesn't pay much. Life balance is such a pain. I don't want to hate my work for a bigger check and I don't want to keep living like a poor either. My house is the only smart thing I have done in 15 years. I have no idea what else to do or where to go. I guess I have floated through life going with the flow for so long that I am entrenched in that outlook. No one can help me but me and I am better at helping others than I am myself.

Miles, why not sell the house and move?? No one can help me but me ... Take it for what it's worth...it may be of no use...but it made me think of this koan on more than one occasion ... One day the Buddha was sitting in the wood with thirty or forty monks. They had an excellent lunch and they were enjoying the company of each other. There was a farmer passing by and the farmer was very unhappy. He asked the Buddha and the monks whether they had seen his cows passing by. The Buddha said they had not seen any cows passing by.
The farmer said, “Monks, I’m so unhappy. I have twelve cows and I don’t know why they all ran away. I have also a few acres of a sesame seed plantation and the insects have eaten up everything. I suffer so much I think I am going to kill myself.
The Buddha said, “My friend, we have not seen any cows passing by here. You might like to look for them in the other direction.”
So the farmer thanked him and ran away, and the Buddha turned to his monks and said, “My dear friends, you are the happiest people in the world. You don’t have any cows to lose. If you have too many cows to take care of, you will be very busy.
“That is why, in order to be happy, you have to learn the art of cow releasing. You release the cows one by one. In the beginning you thought that those cows were essential to your happiness, and you tried to get more and more cows. But now you realize that cows are not really conditions for your happiness; they constitute an obstacle for your happiness. That is why you are determined to release your cows.”
