I do the standby on power off method to drain the caps. I've been shocked before, twice by tube amps, and it sucks. But that was from the ac wall current from a bad ground and the fuse I accidentally touched last month. I always use a wooden chopstick to pry parts, with my left hand in my pocket to avoid accidental ground contact. Or I use insulated rubber gloves. You are correct in your assumptions about the micro terror. You're not under the hood, so to speak, messing with that preamp tube.

Arturia dropped a polyphonic synth which I thought would be comparable to the 500ish dollars for a monophonic Minibrute. Then I checked it out and its 2500. F that it's probably made in China with the same cheap parts as the first ones... that's Moog money.

Not going to stand by Auturia's build quality, but I think this could one of the best synths to come out in the past ten years. There is no other synth on the market that offers the expressive performance capabilities that this thing has. -Velocity and Aftertouch -Pitch Bend -Mod Wheel -Ribbon controllers -Morphée touch and pressure sensitive 3D controller The mod matrix along with these expressive controls could really equate to a cool performance. ...doubt I can afford one though...

Yeah I'm a little disappointed the high pass switch broke on my Microbrute. I bought it new and it hasn't been raged on. I did a little searching and it didnt seem that uncommon...

Went and saw Mark at Smiletone today and he said he's about to make a limited run germanium fuzz face with vintage NOS parts like his Emerald fuzz but not using silicon transistors. He tested about 70 transistors and 60 were not good enough spec to build with! If anyone is feeling a fuzz fiend I can grab one for you probably in the 120-150 price range

I try not to get into collecting stuff because it's a money pit... I have hecka show posters and knick knacks... but uh my Smiletone pedal collection is almost complete. I picked up a Trem Brule version 1 large box for 60 bucks today from a guy in town. I'm fairly close to having every version of every pedal which I guess is the goal?
